The idea that illegal aliens and their supporters can extort driving privileges from our sovereign government is repulsive to most Americans. Their supporters have been demanding entry for these people based upon their propensity to cross our borders through the inhospitable deserts and succumbing for their efforts. What next; acquiescing to the payment of welfare or they'll take to robbing banks or convenience stores? I'd rather take our chances with having them unlicensed than become complicit in their illegal act by facilitating it.

The article states “This would allow law enforcement to use state resources that should be confidential.”. Why are records confidential? I have to show my license just to buy beer. We should be making it easier for illegal aliens to be deported, not making it easier for them to hide in the shadows. The fact that the article states that it “worries” lawyers is proof of that in itself.
