It’s official: The Senate will return briefly from their August recess to vote on the $600 million border security passed by the House yesterday, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid confirmed to TWI.
The Senate will meet at 10 a.m. to hold a voice vote on the border security bill and a resolution on the death of former Sen. Ted Stevens, Reid spokesman Jim Manley wrote in an email. The border security bill was passed in the Senate last Thursday, but due to an issue with its funding provisions had to be re-started in the House Tuesday.
