Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) — the heads of the Senate Banking and House Financial Services committees — have set an ambitious schedule in order to complete the financial regulatory reform process before the White House’s July 4 deadline. Yesterday afternoon, The Wall Street Journal reported, Dodd and Frank agreed to a rough schedule to reconcile the bills, with the Senate version the primary working text:

  • June 10: The financial regulatory reform conference begins, with opening statements.
  • June 15-17: The committee holds day-long sessions to resolve differences in the two bills.
  • June 18 to 26: The committee continues negotiations.
  • June 28 to July 2: The House and Senate take final votes on the legislation.

The day-long meetings will most likely be televised on C-SPAN. And the committee says that it will make changes available to the public before their consideration. For the record, here are the House Republican conferees, the House Democratic conferees and all the Senate conferees.
