Graves Wins Special Election in Georgia
Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Former state lawmaker Tom Graves has won the special election in Georgia’s 9th District, reports the Associated Press. With 77 percent of precincts reporting, Graves received 57 percent to Lee Hawkins’ 43 percent. Graves earned support from the Tea Party in his bid to succeed Nathan Deal, who resigned this year to focus on his run for governor.
It remains to be seen whether Hawkins will keep his name on the regularly scheduled primary ballot next month.
