Personal Bankruptcies Remain High
Monday, May 03, 2010 at 5:42 pm
Via Sara Murray of The Wall Street Journal, the American Bankruptcy Institute says that bankruptcies declined slightly between March and April … but remain 15 percent higher than last year. And personal bankruptcy filings for the first four months of the year are 17 percent higher in 2010 than in 2009, meaning that 2010 is on track to have the highest number of personal bankruptcies since 2005, when Congress made it harder to qualify for one.
The hangover. It continues.
