Poll: Tea Partiers Are Largely White, Republican, and Worried About America

Ken Vogel writes up the results of a Quinnipiac Poll on the Tea Party movement, which reveals them to be — no surprise — largely white (88 percent), massively worried about the direction of the country (92 percent), and by and large, supporters of the Republican Party (74 percent).

Why not link to the poll data itself, instead of (or at least in addition to) Politico, which so far as I can see, doesn't bother linking to the poll either?

No surprise – but why is it only whites are worried about America? Doesn't the rest of the country have a brain??????

Yes, and the rest of the country (apart from the teabaggers) sees that the country is moving in the right direction.

The baggers are no different than the birfers. Sour grapes about the last election, spurred on by those whose racism and clearly backward ideology have kept this country from progressing.
They don't want the contributions by those of color to be recognized, but enjoy those freedoms secured by them. While the baggers in my area aren't violent (just vociferous), the fervor caused by desperately needed change has driven those elsewhere to the shameful actions seen this last weekend.
This country doesn't need that kind of thing. Many felt we grew beyond it, but as long as we have small-minded people, it will continue. It does nothing for their legitimacy and arguments.

Thanks for sharing your flawless syllogism: Teabaggers are white; teabaggers are worried about America; therefore, only white people are worried about America. Do you have a name for that kind of logic? Where do you learn it?
Has it occurred to you that it is possible to care about our country, while at the same time actually developing solutions to our problems and refraining from characterizing the President (who received more votes than any other political candidate in U.S. history) as a “dictator,” as you did in a recent post? If you really care about this country, wouldn't that seem a tiny bit more constructive?

Actually, the government is moving in the left direction. But I think that will change come 2010 and 2012. Obama just lame ducked his administration.

Given how the Republican Party seems hellbent on choosing a brainless theocrat as its standardbearer in 2012, I think your optimism is premature.

I am largely white, but a lifelong Democrat; who believes in Nationaly sponsered heathcare in the event of a government surplus. The local City, County, State and Federal finances are in total freefall due to the various Wall Street and big bankster financing scams. There is no difference between a strawberry picker earning $14,000 a year and being financed for a $750,000 home with zero down and the current ecomomic regime currently in power in Washington, DC. We have a sub-prime government.
ASAP, we need to cut unnecessary government spending now or else face the same fate as subprime borrowers. Bankrupcy, as a Nation, on a Titanic scale.
