RNC Blacks Out ‘Paid for by RNC’ Line on Tea Party Signs
Monday, March 15, 2010 at 6:24 pm
Last week, the “Take the Town Halls to D.C.” campaign got a small amount of negative attention for “LISTEN TO ME!” signs being distributed to activists by the Republican National Committee. I stopped by the Take the Town Halls HQ today and saw the RNC’s solution. Here are the old signs:
Note the language at the bottom identifying the RNC as the maker of the sign. But today, the “LISTEN TO ME!” signs — a stack of them were underneath a 2005 Bush-Cheney inauguration bag — looked like this.

From afar, those blackish stickers fully obscure the RNC label.

“Listen to me, but don't read the fine print.”
Yeah, they are Republicans…

Undeniable proof that Teabaggers are a grassroots group without ties to any political or special interest organization. (I wonder who paid for the black tape?)

As if it's a secret that Tea Party = Republican Party.

The pictures do not line up. The “black” sticker is not black, it is not in the correct place to cover anything.
I don't think you are doing it right.

Not to support or deny this, just noting. It's not the SAME sign with tape on it, it is a DIFFERENT sign. They didn't state that the disclaimer box was in the same place on the different sign. It would be helpful if they showed the complete signs for both pictures. Also, it wasn't stated that the stickers were black, but blackish (probably meant to indicate dark, somewhat opaque). Again, the whole signs would be helpful

The RNC is relentless, ruthless, down and dirty and they never miss a trick.
We need more people to catch them out and make noise every time they do something about this.
Yeats said this;
The best lack all conviction
While the worst are filled with passionate intensity.
That needs to stop. Thanks, David

This sign proves that those in the Tea Party crowd have the maturity of young children. “LISTEN TO ME! (not the people who voted for you or the majorities in opinion polls that want health care reform–I am the center of the universe!)”

I call shenanigans. The top photo and bottom obviously are different. If you look at the top photo, the “RNC box” starts in line with the inside of the downstroke on the last part of the “M”. However, in the 2nd picture it obviously is in line with the start of the middle of the “M”. You can tell by the chiseling.
Different signs cast doubt on the validity of the entire story.

Sure the lettering positions are different. That's because the second photo is zoomed in so we can see what is under the blackout. It is funny that you can focus on the lettering but can not notice that the “M” itself is nearly 5 times the size in the second photo. Open your mind and let some light shine in. Narrow-mindedness is what can doom a nation for it allows politics to run the country rather than principles. Those who blindly follow the politics will not be ready when the nation truly needs us to step up!

Ah yes. I stand corrected. I didn't take into account that something as simple as an optical zoom could move an entire block of text on a mass produced sign. That dastardly zoom not only move the block what looks to be about 2 inches to the left, but it also moved the block of almost obscured text down almost flush with the bottom of the sign.
I can see the next PSA. “If you don't talk to your kids about the dangers of zoom, who will?”
Face it, they are different signs.
I restate my original argument: “Different signs cast doubt on the validity of the entire story.”
