Hannah Giles Legal Defense Fund Is Looking for Donors

Here’s a fundraising letter sent by the Liberty Legal Institute’s Hannah Giles Legal Defense Fund to offset legal costs incurred by Giles — the star of last year’s ACORN sting — as a result of a lawsuit filed against her by ACORN and some of its former employees. The mailing was produced by Base Connect, a firm that does work for Republican campaigns.

Uh, Hannah, you want to call it “revenge.” Another term would be “justice.”

You see, Hannah, it actually is a crime in some states to tape a conversation without all parties to the conversation consenting to having it recorded. California, for example. And you did visit an ACORN office in San Bernardino, didn't you? So have you considered the possiblity that you are a . . . criminal?

It will be a very simple case to prove. You have already admitted in the fundraising letter that the videos are yours. In fact, you have established that the whole idea was yours. Now all a prosecutor needs to do is get the testimony of the people you taped, saying that they never consented. That is an easy conviction. (And maybe in the process we'll all get to see the entire tapes, rather than the carefully edited versions you released).

And since you did this in cooperation with Mr. O'Keefe, after you recruited him (again, as you admit in your letter), maybe you'll get to learn the joys of having a charge of “criminal conspiracy” added for good measure.

Of course, if you write a nice letter to the judge on pink paper, with lots of stars in the margins, I'm sure you won't actually do any jail time.

One other thing, Hannah. I've only been practicing law for 20 years, but I'm reasonably sure there is no such crime as “child prostition.”

That is incredibly long. And, even in the wildest, wingnuttiest interpretation of anything, how is the ACORN sting the biggest scandal of the Obama administration? What does the Obama administration have to do with it at all?

And, yeah, ACORN can sue for whatever proceeds she makes off of this.

I don't see why her defense will cost that much money. She'll either argue that there's no expectation of privacy in the ACORN offices, or that two-party-consent laws are somehow unconstitutional. Anyone who's a victim of eavesdropping in Maryland is entitled to actual and punitive damages. Whatever her defense is, there's not a very complicated case to be made or evidence to procure or anything.

It sounds like she hasn't actually been sued. And she hasn't been charged or indicted for any crime. Liberty Legal Institute might just be using her pretty face to raise money (read between the lines: “Do you know what happens to a girl like this in JAIL????”).

Notice the disclaimer at the bottom: If they collect more money than they need for her defense, Liberty Legal Institute can “use these funds to defend the Consitutional rights of other groups or individuals.”

The fixed-width font, the fake stars and emphasis lines, the poorly-cropped headshot, along with the quasi-hysterical style in which it's written all make this blindingly obvious to what it really is: An attempted grift on senior citizens that wouldn't want to see this pretty girl go to jail. It looks like a Publisher's Clearinghouse form letter from 1984.

Anyone under the age of 50 that falls for something like this deserves to throw their money down a hole.

Wake up Hanna. This isn't a game.

And firing off random young-republican propaganda about a group thats become very angry about the damages your botched frame-up has caused is going to get you and maybe even your parents houses taken off you, or worse.

Think very carefully about what your doing, and who stands to benefit from you getting utterly smashed in a courtroom for defamatory letters like this. And then ask yourself are people who throw you to the wolfs for cheap conservative persecution points REALLY your friends.

This game is going to end up very un-fun..

The moment Hannah Giles used the term “B-roll” it was all over. That's not a term she would be familiar with.

More importantly, it's obvious that Andrew Breitbart is feeding her talking points (lies). That was his word, his lie. Now it's hers.

If she keeps this up they'll also get her on perjury.

Is she asking for money for her pimp James or has she gone out on her own as a prostitute.
I am confused.
She doesn't list what she would do for $10 and what she would do for $5000.
Does she come to your home or does she have a hotel room?
When James goes to jail will he still get a cut?

“But I will fight for what is right because I love my COUNTY and don't want to see Obama's ACORN drag it into the mud.”

You'd think she would have at least gotten that word right.

But maybe she did. Small-minded simpleton.

I saw her in an interview on FoxNews right after the first couple of videos were released. She was asked why she did it.

Her reply was that she had heard of ACORN, didn't know a lot about the organization, but knew that she “didn't like them.”

Wonder how that will play in her defense.

ACORN has been cleared in Pennsylvania, California and now New York. You just know they will now go after these 2 clowns and drive them into the ground or prison. Either way it's sad these 2 people got caught up in their hatred of black people to the point of ruining their lives. Were they willing or just stupid kids used by the crazies at Fox? Who cares. I hope they both go to prison. Especially O'Keefe. That boy deserves a couple of young bucks going jungle on his lil white hiney. He ain't got a chance as yellow and weak as he is. You know, the part of me that says “All people are essentially good, but many people are basically deluded” agrees, but the fact that so much seems edited and designed to entrap people suggests that whilst most of your tea party sorts are basically good, worried, people who've perhaps been fed bit of a line that suggests easy solutions just need more staunch “american” policy, these kids where out to pull a dishonest frame up.

And the fact that they chose to frame up an organisation that has helped tens of thousands of good honest american families claw out of the debt trap and back into the “economic freedom” zone of civil society really leaves me thinking that perhaps these kids where not “good” but power hungry little shitheads.

Scuse the “biker” terminology.

If she keeps calling them “corrupt” and “criminal” like this after they've been cleared then she's likely to get slapped down with a defamation/libel/slander suit and it will be fairly easy to convict.

I bet her parents never did get around to tell her
you do the crime, you do the time.

They broke the laws in some states, they then lied on tv about what and how they did it and she thinks she deserves my hard earned money to bail her out?

If she is not jailed for this, I hope she gets 5,000 hours of community service with ACORN. That would be justice.

You couldn't find a book by Alinsky with the aid of three librarians, and you have no clue who he is. You are not in college.

You are a low-class wh0re, hired to try something so stupid that only you and the fanatic reichwingnuts would fall for it … hired by that incensed-by-losing racist bigot Breitbart, who was counting on eight more years of unmitigated graft … only because you have been sucking his teeny peenie.

(Murdoch already has all the wh0res he wants. Beck/Hannity/O'Reilly/Limp/etc. will suck anything for money.)

And although you really are stupid enough to believe that anyone would buy Breitbart's money-scam scheme sent out on pink paper, no one else except your fellow paranoid schizophrenics believes that you were “getting hundreds of calls a day.”

If you had actually gotten even one threatening call, idiot c^nt, the cops would have been all over it, d'oh? The reason you didn't report your “threatening call” was because you made it yourself, wh0re, and the reason your phone was shut off was because Breitbart didn't pay your monthly bill after you'd served his purpose.

When you get out of jail, here's a clue: Base Connect does not work for YOU. Have fun with bail. And have fun when an actual picture of your wh0re a$$ from your jail booking, not the doctored photoshop with the faked hair and ten pounds of makeup, is posted on the internet. Payback, you stupid wh0re, just is.

A couple of years in jail will do you some good, assuming they have a GED program and a book loan, so that you can actually learn to read.

You might actually learn something about self-defense, too. You can blame whichever of Breitbart's staff that wrote this idiotic memo, to try to get money by wh0ring you, for the tough stuff you're going to get in jail. THEN you can go demonstrate your “I can defend myself,” on the old f^cks that paid you such a paltry sum to make an idiot of yourself.

You'll never see a penny of what Breitbart is collecting in your name. But you're only looking at three-to-five. However, you probably shouldn't expect your “friends” to set up a phone account, or send you any money for socks or shampoo.

Every single one of your claims about ACORN — IS. A. LIE.

You are a lying sack of maggot-ridden dog vomit. You are a cheap wh0re hoping for big money. And you are about to pay the price.

If you want to cut that three-to-five down to one or two, you will think long and hard about what you say to the DA, on the record, under witness and oath, and remember who did what to what little reputation you had — and why.

As liberals, the mistake we make is believing that people would be “good” if they just knew the score.

Not true. Some people are born evil. Witness Cheney.

And some people are born ineducably stupid. Witness Chicken George.

One of my dogs is a really good dog, but she's dumber than half a Florida rock. She barks at the wind, for pity's sake. You can't let her off leash, even though she's never hurt anyone. She's STUPID.

One of my cats is a cuddle-fuzz all night, and more dangerous than an armed crackhead around strangers. She has to be locked up when so much as the Girl Scouts come near. So far, thank ghu, I'm the only one who has had to see a doctor about the lacerations. She was just born vicious.

You CANNOT treat the dangerous lunatics as anything other than dangerous lunatics. That way lies the Texas Tower.

Hannah, you are such an absolute tool!!

All you have to do is RELEASE THE UNEDITED TAPES and youre scott-free, as far as the court-case goes. I mean, if you have info on the terrible crimes you accuse ACORN of doing, then turning in that evidence would save you a LOT of trouble.

For the record, muffin, ACORN isnt trying to “destroy” you, you tried to destory them; and by your own admission, you didnt even know what they were when you went after them.

Like I said, youre a complete tool.

Tell your boss Breitbulb that accusing someone of child-prostitution is FAR FAR worse than accusing one of racism. If you are going to accuse someone of that, makes sure its real, other wise you are just lampooning the sorrow of innocent people who really have to endure that pain.

If its just a front, and you lied through the edits in your tape in order to stage a contrived political attack, then I hope they lock you up and you never see the light of day again.

If you have that evidence, show it without all your bells & whistles, edits and voice-overs.

I just hope she realises her role as a cog in a machine that doesn't care for her as a young woman and either walks away, or preferably turns around and confronts that damn machine for it.

Most people are perpetually good, and Jesus taught us, that often those most good are the ones that offend us the most. I just can't help feeling that he weeps most for the sinners that persecute in his name.

Well , she would have, except for the part where the police investigation into her videos showed that they where heavily doctored, and that they where lying.

You actually don't expose anything by lying about it, but it appears these kids never learned that basic moral principal. Funny that.

Meanwhile a great organization, ACORN, that when all the dust settled turned out to be innocent of almost everything they where accused of, (later official investigations found the organization innocent of any vote tampering and registration scams, and that they where innocent of the accusations made by fox. Uh, what else was left. Oh right nothing).

So yeah I was saying ACORN, eventually found innocent of all the accusations , ended up getting Framed by FOX and cohorts, for doing the unthinkable;- Helping blacks vote. But by the time ACORN had proved its innocence, it was too late, the donation money had run off screaming, and they collapsed.

And when ACORN collapsed, tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of Americas poorest families where left without housing assistance, legal aid, poverty relief, and so on.

Congratulations Republicans, based on a proven lie, you destroyed a great organization that had done nothing wrong except be pesky to your creepy political aims and thus greatly harmed thousands of innocent american families.

Hang your heads in f*#king shame.
