And let's not forget that McCain did not rush to DC this morning to help negotiate this deal. He cancelled last night's Letterman appearance - he would have had to answer questions live. But he "campaigned" today on national cable TV, giving a prepared speech on the economy - - that is one hypocrit. He staged a dishonrable heist.

Also his press aide said that Harry Reid (D) had asked McCain specifically to come and that they really needed him. Funny? Reid made a statement to day quite to the opposite. In fact Reid pointed out that McCain hadn't been in the Senate since April 2008, and they'd all been getting on quite nicely without him, thank you.

John McCain knows he's on the ropes if he, and especially Palin, debate the big issues facing our nation and have to answer with specifics, vs campaign slogans. He is peddling as fast as he can. Just like my 19 yr old son does at college when he has a big paper to present and feels if he presents as is, quite unready, he'll get a bad grade. McCain is doing the same. Only difference, he is supposed to be presidential material, NOT an irresponsible, unprepared kid.

President Bush, "the Worst President in history" is able to manage two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, deal with the invasion of Georgia by Russia, manage the devastation in the Texas and Louisiana by a hurricane, deal with Korea reactivating their nuclear program, etc. McCain did not even read the three page bailout proposal until Tuesday. McCain then suspends his campaign “to provide leadership”? McCain has exposed the limits of his myopic mentality. If he honestly believes that the condition of the United States of America is more important than the campaign, he should give his concession speech today.
