Bachmann, Blackburn Bail On Tea Party Convention

Joining Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who announced that she could no longer attend the National Tea Party Convention being held in her own state, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) has pulled the plug.

“We’re out,” said Bachmann spokesman Dave Dziok. “It comes down to conflicting advice as to how these profits are going to be used after the fact. We’d rather err on the side of caution than do it and find out it’s improper… with somebody saying ‘they’re using the money from an event you were at to support this and this,’ which comes as a direct conflict with what you’re doing as a member of Congress.”
… Both Blackburn and Bachmann sought legal guidance in recent days from lawyers in the House Ethics Committee. According to Dziok, they got “conflicting advice.”
That leaves Sarah Palin as the only politician appearing at the conference.

This was very smart of them. Since this particular event was taken over by the GOP, I would think those entrenched politicians might even try to accuse these legislators later, for their own political goals.

Palin is not a current office-holder and has no risk.

I would not trust the movement that was taken over by the neocons and Beck. Stick to the real Tea Party Movement, the grassroots one, (Patriots?)

These people can not be trusted, especially against the grassroots movement.

Palin has been branded as RINO and “enemy of the movement” by the baggers for supporting McCain for re-election. It's too bad they got fleeced for $150,000. She probably won't appear now (she probably wasn't going to show, anyway), confirming not only everyone's assertions that she is only after money, but that she has used them for her own gain, trying for legitimacy in her new “job” on Fox noise.
The baggers must be spinning like tops, right now.
