People who call themselves Tea Partiers sully the history of the original participants of the Boston Tea Party. Contrary to your deluded opinion, you are not in the situation of taxation without representation. You have reps, just not ones you like. That's democracy. It's not tyranny, or oppression or any of the other ridiculous euphemisms tea baggers like to throw around as if they actually understand those concepts. People who think they are going to “Water the Tree of Liberty…” need to check themselves into a mental institution.

Next time organize better and get people elected that better suit your political ideals. Just know that for as many people as you think are on your side, there are just as many who oppose you. Again, that's democracy and the great thing about this country.

We have a constitutional republic sir, not a democracy, the rule of the mob. I think you need to brush up on your history… Oppression and tyranny can easily come through the whims of a misguided majority… perhaps you're familiar with the manner in which majorities have historically supported a litany of unjust laws. Perhaps you should consult Alexis De Tocqueville's Democracy in America to refresh the definition of the tyranny of the majority in your mind.

Democracy is not a doctrine or a value of this country, the rule of law, and the defense of the rights of the individual is the principle “great thing” upon which this country is based. It is this which most tea-partiers are intent on maintaining, against the thieving propensities of the unrestrained “democratic” majority.
