Lieberman’s Health Care Shenanigans Don’t Go Over Well With the Public
Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 11:13 am
It’s been unclear from the start exactly who Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-Conn.) target constituency was as he frustrated progressives by significantly weakening health reform legislation and then frustrated conservatives by supporting the eventual Senate bill.
Well, according to a new CNN poll, not many people. His favorable rating has dropped 9 points from early December, to 31 percent, as his unfavorable number has climbed 6 points, to 34 percent. His biggest decline — a 14-point drop — has been among independent voters.
This can’t be terribly reassuring for Lieberman if he hopes to run for reelection as an independent in 2012.

And, perhaps that explains his actions as much as anything. The actual beneficiaries of his actions have probably taken notice as well, and his post-Senate sinecure is in the bag.

Lieberman is also exercising his great wisdom on the nuclear disarmament issue; he opposes Obama's efforts to cut arsenals with the Russians.
Only 100 Hiroshima-size bombs will create a mini-nuclear winter in which solar dimming will cause crop failures and expose billions to starvation (Scientific American, Jan. 2010).
An American arsenal probably 10,000 times that in destructive power is not enough for Holy Joe.

Is there anyone he hasn't pissed off? He pissed off liberals for watering down the bill and he pissed off those who wanted it to fail by voting for it. I guess all members of “Connecticut for Lieberman” still approve, and that's all that counts.

When we dream about bad things happening, it means that Joe Lieberman is punishing us because we don't love him enough. It's when we start to dream about good things that we should start to worry.

“It's unclear from the start exactly who Joe Lieberman's target constituency was”?
The healthcare insurance industry and/or big pharma, that's who.
Hey Joe, might as well start clearing your office, because judging by the uproar you caused, payback's gonna be a B****.
Horticulture. That might be a good hobby in retirement. Then you can lord it over your garden. They can't vote you out of office!

If Lieberman had to abide by a state-imposed New Year's resolution, what would it be?
If you're killing time this holiday weekend and thinking about resolutions for *other* people, you might enjoy this poll:
(just for fun)

Joe will have to deal with the results of his actions in 2012. I'm sure the voters in Connecticut, especially the independents, can show him better than anything/one else.

He's not going to run as an independent. But to rub things in, he supports sending money to Israel, which DOES have mandatory government health care. Seems our money isn't good enough for us over here.
