Anthony,
If you would take some time to actually study the Constitution and read something other than the pablum you grew up on...you would realize that 95% of the material put out by The John Birch Society is right on the money. They predicted the European Union years and years before it happened. Additionally, if you don't think that there is a conspiracy among the world leaders to promote The New World Order.....well, my friend you need to put on your critical thinking cap and question why we haven't secured a border which could be done in 6 months. Why did B. Hussein Obama try to pass a Global Poverty Act? This was his first and only bill presented as a Senator? Read the bill and if you don't see that it is all about the UN and world control of our government....then you are truly a foolish man.

Kray

I don't really know anything about the John Birch Society, but I do know that most of the people commenting on this thread are completely ignorant about the Constitution. The 3/5th clause that is repeatedly mentioned in this thread does not mean what some of the drones think it means. It was a compromise that was meant to keep the southern states in the union, but at the same time weaken their power so that slavery could be abolished in the future. Most of the Founders abhorred slavery and preferred to end the institution right from the beginning. It would have been impossible to get most of the southern delegates to sign onto the new Constitution so the 3/5 compromise was made. It does not mean that the Founders believed blacks were worth only 3/5th a person. Some of the delegates certainly may have believed them to be inferior, but that was not the purpose of the 3/5ths compromise. Ironically, it was the southern states that wanted the slaves counted as a full person because it would have increased their power in the House. If they had been counted as a full person, who knows how far slavery might have spread or how long the horrible institution would drag on. Thankfully the Founders were able slip provisions into the Constitution that would lead to an eventual end to slavery. Unfortunately it would not be easy and it still took far too long. I think most people tend to oversimplify these concepts and most simply do not understand the context in which these events took place. Schools simply do not teach history or the Constitution anymore (and so much of what does get taught is BS) so it is no wonder people do not get it.
