A Rand Paul Moneybomb
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 12:26 pm
Supporters of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) more or less invented the concept of the one-day “moneybomb” tied to a history event. Two years ago exactly, Paul raised $6 million for his presidential bid in a national event tied to the original Boston Tea Party. Today, Paul’s son Rand — running stronger than anyone expected for a U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky — is holding his own moneybomb, aiming to raise $3.5 million by the end of the day.

Their stated goal is reaching $700,000 in one day. Even that I think was just to grab some headlines. If they reach $300,000 it will be a good day.

I foresee a geometric decline in donations with an increase in the number of candidates. After all, donating to a libertarian to support libertarian beliefs is like paying a tax, which would be like recognizing a social responsibility, which would then be tyranny, which would return you via Moebius loop to being a supporter of kings and tyrants. A real John Galt would have got their by murdering nobodies (Rand's admiration for Hickman) because caring about other people is tyranny and who has time for them anyway?

” After all, donating to a libertarian to support libertarian beliefs is like paying a tax”
Are you on crack? How is that anything like paying a tax?
definition of tax – A fee charged (levied) by a government on a product, income, or activity.
Donation != fee levied by government

The goal was off, but I personally gave all I could and then some for the only person running in Kentucky that matters, Dr. Rand Paul.
The Tray Graysome person is in Washington to hear his masters voice.
No more RINOs for Kentucky.

If he wins because you donate to him you are simply encouraging a government official to ask for handouts. Who pays Ron Paul? Taxpayers, who pay his salary, travel, pension and benefits. He's already set for life. You contributing to him is a voluntary tax that contributes to your ongoing repression. Help Ron Paul by not feeding his addiction to other peoples' money.

Well, forst of all, this is about Rand Paul, not Ron Paul. And he's not a government official, he's running for office and needs the campaign money to run against the incumbent. (Did you even read what's going on?). Contributing is not a voluntary tax, that's just as much nonsense as the first post. It's not giving money to government.
By your argument we shouldn't give food to starving people, money to hospitals or anything. In fact, any contribution in any form is serving to help an “addition to other peoples' money”. What a bunch of hogwash.

I hope you Kentuckians start doing your part as well. I'm from California and I put my money where my mouth was. Everyone in Kentucky needs to kindly, courteously help inform their neighbors, friends, family and acquaintances about Dr. Rand Paul.
