White House Denies Pushing Deal With Lieberman
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Via USA Today, White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer has denied that the administration is pressuring Senate Democrats to forge a deal with Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) on health care reform, as Politico reported earlier today.
“The report is inaccurate,” he said in an email. “The White House is not pushing Sen. Reid in any direction. We are working hand in hand with the Senate leadership to work through the various issues and pass health reform as soon as possible.”
Senate Democrats have called an emergency meeting at 5:30 this evening to brainstorm ways around the Lieberman hurdle.

It is time for Joe Lieberman to go. He has enjoyed the spot light far to long and his arrogance and resistance to the Public Option or allowing younger folks to buy into the medicare program is absolutely unacceptable. He could not even muster sufficient votes in Connecticut among Democrats to win the senate seat and had to run as an independent. Democrats should not deal with him any longer. Enough of your antics Joe.
