Rick Scott Joins Anti-Health Care Reform Rally
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 3:03 pm
One measure of Republican and conservative confidence on their campaign to block a health care bill is the presence of Rick Scott, a once-discredited hospital executive whose $1.7 billion fraud settlement has been forgotten in the wake of his millions of dollars in anti-reform TV ads. Scott will be one of the speakers at a Code Red Emergency Senate Rally tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., alongside at least three Republican senators, all three of whom are up for reelection in 2010: Tom Coburn (Okla.), Jim DeMint (S.C.) and Richard Burr (N.C.).
The rally also marks a rare collaboration between FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity. The two groups split in 2004 and are sensitive about the funding and issue differences between them — AFP takes money from David Koch, and FW doesn’t.

Unfortunately, the GOP seems to have plenty of help across the aisle in the Senate.
