Gingrich Launches Spanish-Language Conservative Web Magazine

Here’s a new conservative magazine you probably haven’t heard of: The Americano, a product of Gingrich Communications. Edited by Sylvia Garcia, who moonlights as “Hispanic Outreach Director for Speaker Newt Gingrich,” the site has “principles” that match up with Gingrich’s other projects (“as a society we need to accelerate the adoption of transformational health solutions and policies that create better health and more choices for individuals at lower cost”) and news stories that report on freedom and its enemies in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
The magazine’s editorial voice is unmistakably conservative. It refers to “same-sex marriage” in scare quotes. Its op-eds deal with subjects like “secular Christmas” and the national debt. A story about the election of ousted President Manuel Zelaya’s successor in Honduras reads a bit like an official ruling party press release:
Washington rightly shifted position this month and stood up for freeedom (sic) when it said that it was likely to recognize the election results.
The de facto government has finally convinced Hondurans and the international community that the elections are legitimate.
All of that is combined with lifestyle interviews of Hispanic businesspeople, including questions like “How have you seen the growth of Marketing and Development here in the U.S. and in Latin America from the time you started in Omnicom in 1986 through now in your current position as President of Latin America at Diversified Agency Services, a division of Omnicom?”

Gingrich thinks that he has a means of reaching Latino voters who rejected the GOP in 2008. The problem isn't that the GOP has failed to get its message to people who like to get their political news in Spanish; the problem is that the GOP message would still be wrong in Spanish.
The GOP needs to ditch the anti-intellectual populism that threatens the one means that Hispanics — especially Mexican-Americans — believe their sole means to the American dream, to wit, education.

It is good news for Spanish people
especially for those who love to read web magazines. They would able to
understand well the thoughts on the page. There will be no any hassles with it.
