The War on Kevin Jennings
Friday, December 11, 2009 at 4:59 pm
I haven’t written much about the campaign against “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings because Media Matters researchers have done such a good job debunking it. Needless to say, Jennings’ foes have consistently grabbed the most controversial sex-positive pamphlets and presentations from GLSEN, Jennings’s old group — a longtime target of social conservatives — and accused Jennings of approving all of it, even, when he took steps to shut it down.

Quite a euphemistic way of putting it. Why not be a little more specific about what was controversial? Try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jD2xtltgfw Scared that your readers might not buy your whitewashing?
Jennings’s old group — a longtime target of social conservatives — and accused Jennings of approving all of it, even, when he took steps to shut it down.
Then why did these presentations happen at an event where Jennings made the keynote presentation? Why did these presentations continue in the years after the conference in 2000 where the offending organizers were supposedly removed?
The treatment of Jennings is yet another instance of the media firewall trying to defend Obama's radical appointees. As with Van Jones, Yosi Sargent, Acorn, etc. etc. the boom is coming down soon.

The reason MMFA continues to have a hard time debunking the reports is that Jennings has such a rich history of treating diversity and tolerance as a one-way street. To learn more about how he has tried to prevent churches from having an undue influence on children and has told religious folks to “drop dead,” check out Obama Czar playing cards. Jennings is the three of Diamonds.
