Fiorina: ‘I Share Sarah Palin’s Values’
Monday, November 23, 2009 at 12:02 pm
During this morning’s American Spectator breakfast with journalists, Carly Fiorina, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat in California, fielded a friendly question about whether Sarah Palin would back her over her 2010 GOP primary opponent Chuck DeVore.
“I have no idea,” said Fiorina. “You’ll have to ask Sarah Palin. She’s on a mega book tour right now — that’s exciting to see. I share Sarah Palin’s values, and I suspect, I hope, that Sarah Palin thinks it’s important to win. That’s up to her.”

Fiorina shares Palins values? Well, we knew that, based on her performance as CEO of HP, which saw it's stock fall by more than half during her tenure, and her aversion to civil participation in government (she apparently has never had much interest in voting. Maybe she'll have no real interest in governance, just like Palin!).

mantis,
While this is not exactly on topic, it says something about the business practices that are still in place at HP. My mother bought an HP computer two years ago, and it was a lemon. She contacted HP on at least four occasions for repair of the hard drive. She sent the drive to HP THREE times in 8 months! The problem was never fixed OR resolved. She demanded a replacement, and was essentially told she was out of luck.
So, she returned it to the place where she bought it, and they were all too happy to take it back. She now owns an Emachines unit, and is extremely happy.
HP sells crap, and will NOT honor their warranty. Do you think Fiorina had a hand in this practice? If so, doesn't say too much about her.

If she shares Palin's values, I guess that means she'd resign the governorship after 18 months? She thinks thats really a reason for people to vote for her?

What is wrong with the Republican party? Fiorina is running in California, right? What chance does a far-right candidate have in the general election if she advocates the ideas and idiocy of Palin? This is the political equivalent of a suicide bomber exploding their electorial chances in the village square. Good luck.

Palin accomplished more in here 18 months as Governor of Alaska than our Community Organizer in Chief in his short stint as US Senator.

Right! Alaska was all fixed after a year and a half! Really, what else could anyone possibly expect her to do as governor?
It was obviously time for Palin to move on to more important things, like the book tour!
Comment posted November 23, 2009 @ 3:55 pm
LOL! She had to go on the book tour to raise the money to pay the $50,000 fine leveled against her by the state for being caught using her office to make money.
Not only that, she tried to finagle the money from the McCain camp!
So yah, I suppose she DID do a lot!

[...] Appearing at an American Spectator Newsmaker Breakfast this morning, California Senate candidate and former McCain campaign adviser Carly Fiorina said that she “probably would have voted for” Justice Sonia Sotomayor because “she seemed qualified.” Asked if she thought former Alaska governor Sarah Palin would back her campaign, Fiorina said she had “no idea,” but that she shares “Sarah Palin’s values.” [...]

I give up–how can she “share Palin's values” and yet say she might have voted for Sotomayor? Aren't Palin's values, like George W. Bush's, “believe what you believe despite all evidence to the contrary, make up your mind and never change it because it would show weakness”? If Sotomayor was all those horrible things the right claimed she was (baby-killer and all), how could a right-winger (and thus Palin, and by extension Carly) vote for her?! She's trying to be Mitt Romney, all things to all people, and that goes SO well against true believers like DeVore.

There's no surprise here to the usual ignorant comments against Palin. Great idea….attack a 2 term council woman, 2 term mayor, governor for 2.5 years, energy expert, with more executive experience than any candidate in the last decade, (Palin), while a communist, socialist, marxist, who never worked a day in his lazy life…. is taking your rights away from you right under your feet. You're the same drones that go through the railroad crossing when the gates are down! That fact that you support a traitor that is destroying the country is disgraceful!

“Energy expert?” That's rich. What does it take for one to become an “energy expert,” anyways? One might be prone to think it would be a person who's spent many, many years of diligent research and study of the methods of sourcing and delivery of such, and ramifications thereof. But not in the new, improved, create-your-own-reality world that we inhabit now – if the chyron labels you an “expert,” voila, expert you are. Research, methodology, intellectual rigour? Bah, meaningless accoutrements, merely burdening Palin’s inestimable brilliance, suited for the dustbin, or worse, libruls.
And could someone please define the usage of this vacuous phrase “executive experience?” It seems shorthand for “haven’t really done much of note but need filler for the curriculum vitae.” I once had a paper route when I was twelve, I was my own boss and used my executive powers to cajole younger siblings and neighborhood kids to do the route for me. Apparently this prepared me for higher office though I was not aware at the time. Unfortunately Palin’s experience and knowledge are insufficient even for the office of local canine warden as her charges would routinely outwit her, however inexplicably this becomes an endearing quality for many folks. By that standard, Carly has a great deal of “experience” however one risks conflating quantity with quality. Working with a number of ex-HP’ers, the unanimous verdict on her “executive experience” is that it was uniformly shoddy, a condition certain to be replicated from the Governor’s office should such a thing come to pass. In this, she most assuredly shares Palin’s “values.”

Fiornia was dumped by HP because she did a lousy job — and then they gave her a HUGE separation package (read: truckloads of money). So why in the world is she running for office? You don't suppose her ego is damaged from a poor stint at HP and now she's looking for something to boost herself up again, do you? Seems pretty likely and not much of a reason for the public to support her. She screwed up at HP and has a lot of money. It would be really, really nice if she sat down and shut up and then went shopping. That would be 'doing something for her country”.

How many votes does Carly Fiorina lose if Sarah Palin's comes to her side?
She is selling herself as a successful manager in hight tech — Debatable, I know. This is incompatible with the “I am as dumb as you” line which supposedly makes up a big chunk of Sarah Palin's appeal.
I just don't think creationism and Obama's birth certificate can make a senator in California. Could I be wrong?

What “executive experience” has Sarah Palin gained outside of government?
Are you aware that she used abortion as a “wedge issue” in her mayoral race and conducted a “whisper campaign” against the incumbent mayor, who was Lutheran, insinuating that he was not really a Christian and possibly even — gasp — Jewish because he had a name common to Jews?
At least you do admit that she had a failed term as governor. Yes, she served a PARTIAL TERM of 2.5 years and will forever be known as a QUITTER. Couldn't take the heat in a state of 600,000 people. How could she possibly handle a nation of 300 million?

You do realize that the most expensive ethics complaint was the one Palin filed against herself? Do a little independent investigation sometime – you'll learn more than just what ClusterFOX and Rush feed you every day.
