Palin to Visit Fort Hood

Peter Wallsten reports that the conservative author who governed Alaska for 31 months will make an appearance at Fort Hood on Dec. 4. It’s less sensational than it sounds:

The former vice presidential candidate, whose book “Going Rogue,” will be released on Tuesday, had already agreed to visit the Army base, according to her publicist. She said that after last week’s shooting that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded, an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.
