The US press has demonized Islam over the last 6 years
I wouldn't place a US Muslim soldier in a position where they had to choose between his religious beliefs and a direct order

The US military must address this issue. We didn’t send Japanese Americans to the Japan Theater during WWII. One must believe that there would be competing psychological loyalties for any religious Muslim. After 6 years of Bush defining this war as a “clash of civilizations”, any Muslim would be in conflict. If this country was at war with Israel, would we send Jewish troops into battle? Especially in an undeclared war when the majority of your fellow citizens are ambiguous, at best, in their support.
