That’s what Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) is saying now on the Senate floor. Word is that chamber leaders are nearing an agreement to stage the final vote within the next hour.
Stay tuned…

Thank you Mike Lillis and Washington Independent. You have been a godsend for your accurate and great up to date information for many unemployed Americans.
This is a great website, there is always interesting info to read that no one else seems to be covering like this site does. Again, thank you for a terrific job in covering the unemployment extension bill.

I agree with the blogger below you Mr. Lillis and the Washington independent deserve an acknowledgment and the thanks of many who were probably able to keep from jumping off a roof top due to your accurate and compassionate reporting. I am also amazed how little coverage this event received.
Well Mr. Lillis thank you for your work. Thank you Washington Independent for giving the forgotten a voice even if I don't like all the voices at least everyone got to express the view.

Yes, thanks for the website, Mike, and your informative feed. It's passed, yahoo! However, let's not forget what this has been like for all of us. This was in the House of Reps in mid- September, voted on, passed, it's been held up in the Senate for nearly 7 – 8 weeks, while all the republicans tried to get their 'crap' added to this bill. How many people lost the roof over the heads, are sleeping in cars, have no food, lost power, etc…? remember the 'republicans' and their efforts here during the next elections!
