Dear Maggie,

Sorry to hear that, many are in the same position as your daughter. Unfortunately, we as citizens don't seem to be nearly as important to the Senate as the banks and the big businesses. It was a sad decision on the part of the lawmakers, not to make it retroactive, and it will most certainly cause much unnecessary human suffering, and a much harder time for many Americans, who are trying to crawl out of the massive pits of debt that they are now in, thanks to losing their jobs in this troubled economy.

I will keep you and especially your daughter in my prayers, along with everyone who is suffering in this shattered economy.

The bad news is that even though Obama is expected to sign it tomorrow, from what I've read, none of us will see an actual check until mid december, which is unfortunately too long for many who are behind on their rent, and ready to lose either their home, or their car, etc. This is part of why I, along with many others have been proactive in urging the Senate to take action quickly! If the GOP's attempts at bogging it down had not occured, from what I read, we all would have gotten our first checks prior to Thanksgiving, but as it now stands.

The good news is that we should get paid before Christmas! Also, from what I understand, the timeclock for our pay will start as soon as the president signs the bill. At the latest, the period they will pay your daughter for will begin starting Next week. This means that even though your daughter won't get a U.E. check until Mid December, by that time, she should get back pay from the date the president signs it until the date they catch her up to the date they send the first check of course. I hope that help will arrive sooner!

God Bless.

Conservative, you are sadly misguided if you don't realize that Jesus never wanted anyone to go hungry, or homeless, and if you think that's blasphemous, I'd hate to be you. I'm not in any way exagerating or exploiting the bible and if you read it, you'd know that there are over 300 verses in the bible that explain what God thinks of the rich and the greedy, and of those who don't treat the poor well, or help them when they can. I simply informed the senator of the views of the gospel, and expressed concern for his soul, which in the bible is the way you are to handle it if your brother strays. I'm sorry that you don't seem to be familiar with any of this, and that it seems to anger you so that I try and help the Senator by informing him of the warnings the good book contains, as well as the moral lessons.

I should think that if God writes something in the good book, over 300 times, all pointing to the same basic principle, that as the Bible puts it if a man has two tunics, and another man has none, than the man with two should give his to the man with none, then I should think that it would be pretty clear exactly WWJD in the position of Mr. Demint, who boasts good christian values as a major part of the reason you should vote for him.

I'm not the one using God for my campaign so that I can gain money and power. I'm not the one who says abortion is murder and those who commit it are going to hell according to the bible, and then turns my back on helping the poor and allows them to go hungry, or turns my back on a public healthcare plan sentencing thousands to death who can not afford care.

If you believe that the Bible is lying about it being easier for a camel to pass through they eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, or that allowing your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to go homeless and hungry while you are fat, I fear you sir are the blasphemer, so I'd be careful when you point that finger, and hurl such misguided statements.

UE benefits, are insurance, not welfare, try being informed instead of just opinionated, it will help the world be a bit better place I think if you open your mind, and learn to think for yourself and research the facts. My "welfare bennys" as you put it, are insurance that costs the taxpayer and you personally NOTHING, not a single solitary dime! They cost the employers, the businesses (and according to your own beloved GOP the money is then taken from MY PAY, FROM ME THE EMPLOYEE in the form of lesser pay). Do you even listen to what your own party says, or is it just Rush Limbaugh?

My insurance, which I now need for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, is only $14 per year, or 26 cents a day, and it's PAID FOR BY ME, according to your own party! Why then sir, since it is insurance, that I pay for in the form of lesser pay, during MY ENTIRE LIFE that I work, (which so far for me is almost 20 yrs, without a single day until this recession without a job, since I was 16 yrs old), should I now not be able to collect on that insurance which I paid into all these years with my own money, and not your precious tax dollars? I wonder sir, if you have life insurance, and if when you die, and your wife collects it, will that be welfare?

More importantly, how does any of this hurt you in any way? Especially enough to warrant your vomiting ugliness, miguided statements, and childish insults upon the rest of us hard working tax paying Americans?

I suppose what made you the angriest is that I pointed out that God is not on the side of the rich, the greedy, and most importantly, those who turn a blind eye to the suffering of their fellow man? Is that because you're afraid of the truth?

I suggest you read the good book for yourself and study what exactly the thing says, you might learn a thing or two, and become a nicer person, which the rest of us would love. Believe it or not, I would like to see you get some help really sir, we are all connected in this world, and the bitterness and ugliness that appears to consume you directly, and indirectly impacts us all in a negative manner. Here's hoping!

I'm not even going to address the personal attacks, as they are not only miguided, but like many of your comments rather childish. To be as mean spirited, unsympathetic, judgemental, rude, immature, and crass as you've recently been to many of those on this forum, it strikes me as funny that you would even bother to pretend that you know the definition of the word blasphemous, or rhetoric for that matter...

Why do try and remove the splinter from your brothers eyes and yet ignore the planks in your own sir? You must have had an awful life to be this bitter and cold and hardened in your heart towards those you are supposed to love as brothers.

Also I found it extremely funny that you called me preacher, as if it were an insult. lol I'll take that as a compliment.

Like I said before, change the batteries in your shininglight. You might want to take your Bible and bang it over your head a few times.
Praise be to Jesus, you might wake up and realize that the Republican and Democrats are a bunch of idiots. Now get the 2 by 4 out of your eye and pound the pavement and bring in the bacon. You have14 to 20 weeks left. Make good use of it. Also this is the beginning of the end of liberalism. Wait till 2012. Now take your blasphemous ass to a good church, not a cult. You might learn something. GGGGGOOOOOOOPPPPPPPP JOHNSON

Unfortunately, we as citizens don't seem to be nearly as important to the Senate as the banks and the big businesses. It was a sad decision on the part of the lawmakers, not to make it retroactive, and it will most certainly cause much unnecessary human suffering, and a much harder time for many Americans trying to crawl out of the debt that being laid off due to no fault of your own in this time of recession has caused.

I will keep you and especially your daughter in my prayers, along with everyone who is suffering in this shattered economy.

The bad news is that thought Obama is expected to sign it tomorrow, from what I've read, none of us will see an actual check until mid december, which is unfortunately too long for many who are behind on their rent, and ready to lose either their home, or their car, etc. This is part of why I, along with many others have been proactive in urging the Senate to take action quickly! More importantly, how does any of it hurt you? Especially enough to warrant your vomiting ugliness, judment, and childish insults upon many many of your fellow American tax paying citizens, in their hour of greatest need?

I suppose what made you the angriest is that I pointed out that God is not on the side of the rich, the greedy, and most importantly, those who turn a blind eye to the suffering of their fellow man? I suggest you read the good book for yourself and study what exactly the thing says, you might learn a thing or two, and become a nicer person, which the rest of us would love.

You must have had an awful life to be this bitter and cold and hardened in your heart.

Also I found it extremely funny that you called me preacher, as if it were an insult. lol

I'd stop spreading so much ugliness, and go back to your playstation if I were you.

Conservative, you are sadly misguided if you don't realize that Jesus wanted nobody to go hungry, or homeless, and if you think that's blasphemous, I'd hate to be you. I'm not in any way exagerating or exploiting the bible and if you read it, you'd know that there are over 300 verses in the bible that explain what God thinks of the rich and the greedy, and of those who don't treat the poor well, or help them when they can.

I should think that if God writes something in the good book, over 300 times, all pointing to the same basic principle, that as the Bible puts it if a man has two tunics, and another man has none, than the man with two should give his to the man with none, then I should think that it would be pretty clear exactly WWJD in the position of Mr. Demint, who boasts good christian values.

UE benefits, are insurance. Insurance that costs the taxpayer NOTHING, and that cost the employer (which according to your GOP is then taken from the employee in the form of lesser pay, their words, not mine). It is only $14 per year, or 26 cents a day, and we all paid into it, according to your own party!
My daughters unemployment ran out early in Sept. . and she is now not going to get one dime of retro pay. What is the purpose of no retro pay? How else can a person catch their bills up? 'I am still happy that it finally passed, but who would have thought that you wouldnt get retro pay. As everyone always has in the past.

You know its great that they have finallly passed the unemployment extention, but I think it is ridiculous that its not retroactive, if yours has already ran out. For one thing if you've borrowed from people to live on thinking you would be able to pay it back if the extention passed, think again. Most people are so far behind on all their bills, they were counting on this back pay to get caught up. This is just wrong. What are they thinking?
