NY-23: Hoffman Responds to Scozzafava Quitting the Race
Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:15 am
Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate in the NY-23 special election, puts out a flag-waving statement on the GOP candidate’s surprising, 11th-hour surrender. Hoffman defines the race, as conservatives have defined it for weeks, as between his Mr. Smith persona and the forces of ACORN, Nancy Pelosi, and union thugs. From the campaign:
This morning’s events prove what we have said for the last week; this campaign is a horserace between me and Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked candidate, Bill Owens. At this moment, the Democratic Party, the Working Families Party, ACORN, Big Labor and pro-abortion groups are flooding the district with troops and they are flooding the airwaves with a million dollars worth of negative ads. They are throwing mud; they are trying to stop me.
It’s time for us to send a message to Washington—we’re sick and tired of big-spending, high-taxing, career politicians and by voting for me on Tuesday you will send that message loud and clear.

Woohoo!! Go Dougie Go!! Liberals & Rinos: Can you hear us now?? We're that “little teaparty movement” that you love to make fun of and we're coming for you. 2010, be afraid, be VERY afraid…

Defend that voting ballot. We all know what you're up against, this race is close and they're going to try to steal it. With the blessings of the not-particularly-new Socialist party.
Win or lose that message is heard whether they want to admit or not. It's On.

One of the ways for the Dems to win is to hold their nose and point out to his supporters that what Doug Hoffman appears to support would raise the taxes on his supporters.
If anyone's in the area, go to one of his public appearances and really press him on that.

Hoffman sounds like a conceited jackass. How much does he really represent the people of NY 23?
