Unemployment benefits are very bad. They discourage people from finding or making another job for themselves. Unemployment tax rises when more people are drawing the benefit. This causes employers to stop hiring or fire even more employees. This creates an endless spiral of unemployed workers. Unless the unemployed have a health issue they need to get off their lazy arse and start being productive, if not they can live in a box and beg for food.
