NY-23: National Republican Trust and Minutemen for Hoffman

The rallying of conservatives to Doug Hoffman’s dark horse campaign in the New York 23rd Congressional District special election is not slowing down. New allies for the Conservative Party candidate include the National Republican Trust, a hard-edged group best known for 11th hour Jeremiah Wright ads in the 2008 election, and the anti-illegal immigration Minuteman PAC. The Minuteman PAC has even conducted its own poll in the race, released today, which has Hoffman leading the three-way race by 12 points among “definite voters.” That poll has been released as encouragement for donors to fund this radio ad. An excerpt:

ACORN must be stopped. But how? Two candidates for Congress, Dede Scozzafava, are tied directly to ACORN and their far-left-wing socialist agenda. That’s why voters all over central New York and the north country are backing Doug Hoffman for Congress.

The degree to which the successful and heretofore uncontroversial Working Families Party has become a cudgel for Hoffman in this race (Scozzafava’s old WFP endorsements, and Owen’s current WFP endorsement, are their only “ties” to ACORN) is astonishing.
