Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:04 am
As Greg Sargent first reported, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) will preside over a hearing on presidential “czars” in his Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. The hearing will be this Thursday, and the scheduled witnesses are Tom Ridge, George Mason University Prof. James Pfiffner, former OLC Lee Casey, and Harold Relyea, formerly of the Congressional Research Service.

This is just Joe Lieberman continuing his proud tradition of holding the administration accountable for abuses of executive power. He held many such hearings during the Bush administration, I'm sure…

Actually, Bush had 47 czars and I don't remember Lieberman challenging him on it. In fact, I don't remember Lieberman challenging Bush on much of anything.

Is this man bonkers? What on earth would cause him to do something so silly that feeds a fictitious issue concocted by Glenn Beck?
