Mika actually was a somewhat liberal counterpoint in the early days of the show, but Joe browbeat her so frequently and relentlessly (a particularly common and creepy thing he did was “jokingly” implying that she was a lush-slash-prescription drug addict) that at some point early last year she clearly made a decision to stop dissenting– now she never expresses anything more than mild disagreement with him. The show should really be called Morning Stockholm Syndrome.

She does?

I never assumed that. There is no liberal to play against the conservatives on that show. Never has been.

When Scarborough rants, Mika swings into action, nodding furiously in agreement like a bobblehead doll. A typical show goes like this:

JS: "Whine whine whine"

MB: "Bobble bobble bobble"

JS: "Kvetch moan bitch"

MB: "Bobble bobble"

JS: (sticking head up his own anus) "Yoidy yoidy"

MB: "Bobble bobble" (tilts head on an angle contemplatively) "Bobble"

WG: "Snark snark" (wiseacre preppy frat boy smirk)

JS: "Wretch snark yoidy"

MB: "Bobble"
