One more thing about the four anti-Muslim bigots in Congress using a birther-published book as fodder for their un-American crusade. Adam Serwer at The American Prospect writes:
One of the advantages America has in the war on terror is that our law enforcement and intelligence agencies can potentially draw on the talents and experiences of Americans who are Muslim or whose families have cultural or ethnic origins in Muslim countries, who have the kind of linguistic and cultural backgrounds that are all too scarce in U.S. agencies at the moment. Political stunts alienate the very communities whose help the government needs in order to effectively protect national security.
One of the most talented counterterrorism agents the U.S. government had is retired FBI agent Ali Soufan. Soufan is a Muslim. Think it’s a coincidence? Here’s a man who actively disrupted al-Qaeda plots and al-Qaeda cells. But under the standards set out by the bigoted four GOP members of the House, Soufan would be suspect. That should be proof enough that their disgusting efforts harm America. But I suppose all they see when they see Soufan is another Muslim who tried to undermine government efforts to torture people.

Ali Soufan is a great American hero, but Spencer, you are conflating Muslims with CAIR. CAIR does not represent American Muslims just like AIPAC doesn't represent American Jews. This is what CAIR has been doing for years, every time someone criticizes them, CAIR frames it as an attack on Muslims. It is not. It is an attack on CAIR. AIPAC pulls the same sort of stunts, but one thing you have not addressed or even responded to are the US government investigations, trials, etc from Chicago to Texas that have found that CAIR is affiliated with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Sure the nutjobs at WND blow things out of proportion, but are you surprised?
I know you are super busy, but please read the exhibits and court documents from the Holy Land Foundation. They are available on the internet. Just because crazies are taking up this cause (for the wrong reasons clearly), don't let that prevent you from taking an objective look at the issue.
And congrats on the Techno rating for TWI. Well deserved.
