The ‘Czar’ Conspiracy Runs Deep

Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is going on the air for his 2010 re-election campaign, running two minute-long ads. One image that jumps out, from the ad titled “Hard Work”:

Gaming czar? Now, it’s possible that in 1977 Reid was made chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, and that local media, to save headline space, called him the “gaming czar.” But that clashes with the idea that “czars” are quasi-fascist government officials, invented by President Obama (and Bill Ayers) as part of a multi-year totalitarian plot. Clearly, we need some Senate hearings on this.
