Poll: Maine Anti-Gay Marriage Measure Facing Defeat
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 12:38 pm
Buried in this poll on Maine political attitudes is a question on the Nov. 3 same-sex marriage referendum that does not auger well for gay marriage opponents. Question 1, which would roll back legal gay marriage in the state, is trailing 52-43. Catholic voters support the measure, but only by a seven-point margin. Last month, Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization for Marriage told me that she was confident that the question would pass.
The best news for traditional marriage activists is this: 76 percent of voters “believe that if the gay marriage law is upheld it will result in gay marriage being taught in Maine schools.” That “save the children” message has been key to the “Yes on 1″ campaign. But with less than three weeks before the vote, the “No on 1″ campaign has the upper hand.

Praise God! The Goliath churches have been pouring obscene amounts of money into this initiative…to take equal rights away from a group of people born differently from others. All, while the world suffers from starvation, poverty and homelessness. This just doesn't seem right…what would Jesus do? Perhaps the sling of David will bring them to their senses!

I think you've misread the poll. I read the poll report earlier and, from what I remember, 76% of Yes on No voters think that if gay marriage is upheld it would lead to children being taught this in public schools.

But if gay people get equality then everyone will want it! Before you know it, everyone will be allowed to get married.
Unless you are an interracial couple in some bozo parish in Louisiana.
