The Rise of Alex Jones

Michelle Goldberg profiles Alex Jones, the explosion-voiced radio host who spent eight years of the George W. Bush administration being dismissed as a one-world, 9/11 Truth kook, but has won new fans under Barack Obama. One thing I didn’t know: It was in Jones’s work that the phrase “The answer to 1984 is 1776!” originated, and that phrase is now a mainstay of Tea Party iconography.

Some conservatives have groaned to see the newfound respect Jones is getting. So far, though, no one has paid a price for associating with him. In late July, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas appeared on Jones’s show to discuss the “nation-ending” potential of Obama’s policies and the country’s incipient march toward eugenics and fascism. “Did you hear about the White House science czar calling for putting stuff in the water to sterilize us?” Jones asked him. Gohmert allowed that he had not, but he didn’t seem particularly surprised. A few minutes later, Jones asked the congressman for his thoughts about “the youth brigades, national compulsory service,” that the Democrats had in store. “[T]his stuff has been done before,” Gohmert said. “It was done in the 1930s, and that was not the only place it’s been done.”

It’s incredible how, in 11 years, Alex Jones has gotten there from here:

How telling it is that the author of the TNR piece leaves out current hero of the left Alan Grayson in her “expose” of the guests of Alex Jones. Michelle Goldberg is just continuing on her self-serving narrative against right wingers that associate with kooks while apologizing for the left wing ones. In this case she completely air-brushed out left-wing hero Grayson. Doesn't quite fit the self-serving narrative.

Republicans are Crazy!

Representative Grayson speaks the truth, unlike this batshit crazy Alex Jones (and the even nuttier Gomer from Texas). You've fully displayed your ignorance and idiocy by even trying to equate the two.

Great! Now we have two nutcases-Beck and now (well, he's been a nut for a while now) Alex Jones.

It shows how creatively, morally, and politically bankrupt the Repub….I mean whiners are. Has there been ANYTHING positive the whiners have done in the past 10 years or more? Then you can't expect them to have any now. They are quickly becoming the party of anachronism. Poor, poor whiners!

Out of all the media sources I frequent on a daily basis, the reports from Alex Jones seem to be the most accurate and on the leading edge.

Yes ! He's a nut ! Look….the government is doing a great job and any fool can see that.Kids…just stick to the left right talk ! You can either believe the left or the right pundits. They both tell the truth otherwise they would get in trouble I bet!
Being totally polarized makes sure you really can make the best decisionsin a Democracy .Without polarity how can you have a Democracy? We all know that if there was any problems with the government all we have to do is zap off an email to our leaders, and quick like a bunny they fix it! Thats how things stay perfect. These people like Alex Jones are just jealous of the people the left and right pundits agree are not involved in any kind of bribery .If there was bribery going on then the police would quick like a bunny stop it !Relax …these nuts like Jones are kooks nobody pays any attention to him! The mainstream media is completely honest, and thats why all the pretty girls with low cut blouses and really nice hair decide to work there as newscasters. Pretty girls are not stupid and as you can see on a regular basis on TV they are very good readers. It's hard to read those teleprompters ! So they must be like really smart and have a grip on what's going on.Trust the mainstream media, that way you know you are getting the real truth!
These people like Jones are very boring reading all the documents and showing videos. Shessh Jones get in touch with the public! I hear Alex Jones doesn't even cover the latest celebrities hot stories. The guy is a total kook!

So why are more people listening to Alex Jones then? Is it because all of a sudden the people have gone crazier? Or is it because he has a higher rate of accuracy in his reporting compared to most news sources? Are you taking the swine flu shot also? before you do please research, Squalene and visit this site: http://www.momsagainstmercury.org/mercury.htm

Jones isnt a republican

Watch his movie endgame

PLEASE PROVE IT WRONG, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PUNCH HOLES IN HIS STUFF, I REALLLLLLY WANT TO

when i started on jones i used to listen to randi rhodes on air america and was into democratic underground, and amy goodman

her stuff is total globalist, the UN created by the oil-igarchs and bankers are gonna save us, YEAH RIGHT.

America got great on our constitution, we straightened out our problems like slavery and locking up Japanese dudes and people which was totally wrong, obama just violated the constitution by sitting on the security council and rumsfeld is makin money off tamiflu

seriously, wake up the false Hegelian dialectic system of left vs right is so 90's
all the cool kids know the republicans have an elephant with pentagrams on its back and the democrats have pelosi who takes Afghanistan off the table and hillary who threatens to flatten iran and anybody who seems like they are addressing a question to her husband

just look at a few of his OLD movies and check and see if any of the stuff happened then find out how he knew = hint:documents

so by having the name Monkey you admit that you are not fully evolved?
jk, i could not resist

the republicans are doing what comes naturally, they see a massive crowd of movers and shakers and they want to control it for their own gain, the democrats cant even claim that, now its the war party

Republicans are Americans, and so are Democrats, what exactly are you prepared to do to stop people from standing by the constitution?

I watched Gomert on C-Span for years go along with bush like everything bush did was holy, now he sees that the laws he put in place are going to be used to destroy his country,

how happy will you be to have President Gingrich address the children in school or watch bobble head celebrities take pledges to support him all the time urging you to consider “end of life” options when you reach 55, thats what this stupid Liberal, Conservative pendulum does,

meanwhile clinton and daddy bush make out on the couch at the grove and laugh at the prison you've built around your mind.

Its called cognitive dissonance. Do your own research, these people are all members of the same party, AND WE THE PEOPLE ARENT INVITED

Read plato's republic, the elected officials consider themselves to be on track to become the guardian class before there was left vs right there was the king and the serfs and the Slave and the Master

Serf=Slave=Democrat/Republican

Jones is neither a Republican nor Democrat, and was just as vocal about Bush (as the author's video clearly shows) as he currently is about Obama today. He is one of the few people that recognize that BOTH parties (and their respective media talking heads at Fox and MSNBC) are pushing the same agenda, and are run by the same group of people.

Actually, he was ragging on Bush since before day one (busting him for his involvement with Bohemian Groove), when the criminal was governor of Texas…
