At today’s Heritage Foundation briefing, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) told the audience of conservative bloggers that “‘Republican’ still isn’t a positive brand name for people but ‘conservative’ is.” She said that a new conservative movement “under that banner coalition of respecting the constitution [...] is a winning formula going forward.”
Bachmann announced a threefold strategy: “Number one, we have to defeat [the Democratic] leadership. … We’ll have that opportunity next year to do exactly that.” Second, “defund the left. … The American people believe that Congress wastes 50 percent — 50 cents or 50 percent of every dollar it spends. God love the American people. They get it.” Finally, she wants to pass “repealer bill[s]” to dismantle the work of the Democratic Congress.

Repealer bills to dismantle the work of the democratically elected Congress? Just because she doesn't like it? And, honestly, with Bachmann at the helm, I doubt the conservative brand will have much pull outside of actual conservatives.
Seriously Minnesota, why do you keep sending this woman to Washington?

In fairness, it's not like they've passed much to dismantle. I do hope this nutty woman is serious about “defunding the left,” specifically, that ACORN legislation. The Pentagon is every bit as unaccountable as the Fed. Seeing the most criminal contractors cut off would certainly be a step toward that accountability, and possibly finding out where all those unaccounted for trillions have disappeared to.
