Greg Sargent has the letter from White House Counsel Greg Craig to Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wisc.), answering some of the worries he and other senators have expressed about the high-level administration officials appointed without the advise and consent of the Senate. Sargent sums up Craig’s points, which should really be embarrassing for the Republicans, like Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) who have talked ominously about 18 or more “unaccountable czars.” Basically, even the “czars” whose jobs were created by President Obama have been, or could be, called before Congress.
The slapdash nature of the anti-”czar” campaign from Republicans (not from the likes of Glenn Beck, who have been more targeted) has really been surprising. After the jump, for example, is the full video of a September 16 press conference where more than a dozen Republicans joined Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) to make the case against “czars.” It’s clear that few of them know how many so-called “czars” were given jobs without Senate confirmation.

I think the White House should start referring to the staff members of Congresspeople as 'czars'.
Senator Snowe's chief of staff is now Snow's Staff Czar. Etc.

All the Congress needs to do is to cut the budget of the White House. I have read somewhere the budget for the White House has grown to two billion dollars per year. Keep in mind it is not the question of having a Czar, it is that Obama has been breeding them like bunnies. No past President has had anywhere near this number.

Except George W. Bush, who had 47 compared to the 36 advisors currently in the White House. So what was GW's breeding of “czars” like, loser?

CZAR IS THE TERM USED BY THE IDIOTS WHO CANNONT AND DO NAT KNOW THE FULL NAMES OF THESE DEPT HEADS,
THERE ARE ACTUAL DEPTS WITH LONG TITLES BUT THE MEDIA BEIGN DUMB AS YOU CALL THEM CZARS, THE TEA BAGGERS SAY NAZI, AND ALL OF U ARE DUMB AS HELL, FOR NOT KNOWING THESE DEPT EXIST AND HAVE FULL TITLES BUT NO ONE DOES RESEARCH SO THEY CALL THEM CZARS, AND NOW MORE DUMMIES ARE OUTRAGED.
