So says The Associated Press, reportingthis afternoon that the absence of an estimated cost from the Congressional Budget Office means that the Senate Finance Committee won’t get around to voting on its health care reform bill until Wednesday at the earliest.
Last week, Republicans on the panel, notably Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), had urged Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) to wait at least 72 hours after receiving the CBO score to stage the vote. Baucus, though, declined to commit to any timelines, saying only that he would leave “a reasonable time” for lawmakers to study the bill with the cost estimates attached.
