So no more Olympics in America? Is this the new rule? Like Presidents can't talk to school kids? Or it's ok once again to Bash the President on foreign soil?

Or is this yet another temporary rule that only applies so long as you can “win” the news cycle?

Hate to say it, but a good bit of this glee is racist. I think what really galled the down-with-the-USA white folks was that they saw "their America" being represented by Barack Obama, Michelle Obama & Oprah Winfrey. (Yeah, I know Mayor Daley was there, too.)

Of course to be perfectly fair, if the President hadn't gone to Copenhagen, it would have been his fault that he hadn't rescued Chicago, whose fate he had left in the hands of three ladies: Mrs. Obama, Winfrey & Valerie Jarrett. It would have been, "Geez, they're chicks AND they're black. What did you expect?"

Interestingly, ABC News did some post-vote reporting, & the general consensus among the Commission members was they all LOVED the Obamas & Winfrey, who were the stars of the show, the ones they wanted to have their pictures taken with. The IOC members said, "Obama won, Chicago lost." But you don't hear that out there in "the real America."

The International Olympic Committee is probably the most political, corrupt organization on the face of the planet. Until recently bribery rates were advertised. Yet even this defective organization made a logical decision. This group doesn't care about our right v left politics; they don't care about how either party views Chicago. America has hosted the Olympic Games repeatedly, while no country on the South American continent has ever held either a Summer or Winter Game. Nobody was surprised by the decision.
Judging by their actions, Americans for Prosperity rivals the IOC. Everything is viewed through the lens of politics and corruption. Yes, yes, I know the left is political and corrupt; but their opponents are no less so, and have institutionalized their own brands of politics (i.e. The K Street Project) and corruption (privatizing military tasks and using no-bid contracts). Preferring 'our' brand of corruption over 'their' brand of corruption is their policy statement.

America lost its Olympic bid. I am not harmed; I congratulate Rio.
Ingraham and commenter shorething: yes you are rooting against America. You weren't cheering Rio, you are cheering against America.
And I am harmed by this.
And so are you.
