Just about every news organization out there is reporting that Chicago has been eliminated in the first round of voting as a possible host for the 2016 Olympic Games, despite President Obama’s high-profile lobbying effort to bring the games to his hometown. Drudge, of course, is touting the news in typical patriotic fashion:

Chicago hit a high note for the 1892-93 World's Columbian Exposition. Nothing since has quite measured up.
