The National Security Team Assembles Tomorrow for Afghanistan Review

Make tomorrow the second time President Obama will talk to Gen. Stanley McChrystal since McChrystal took command in Afghanistan. The White House just announced that tomorrow afternoon, the national security team will assemble for the  first cabinet-level assessment of Afghanistan and Pakistan strategy since McChrystal turned in his strategy review and resource request. From the White House scheduling bulletin, the expected attendees:

Vice President Biden

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates

Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan

Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

General David Petraeus, U.S. Central Command

General Stanley McChrystal, U.S. Commander in Afghanistan

Admiral Dennis Blair, Director of National Intelligence

CIA Director Leon Panetta

Karl Eikenberry, U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan

Anne Patterson, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan

General James Jones, National Security Advisor
