Before I sound like an idiot I must say that I do believe in climate change (the globe is getting warmer) however I don't necessarily believe that there is anything that we do, are doing to make that happen.

Was there “a general scientific consensus” about global cooling being a threat to the environment in the 1970s?

I don't “know” that there is a general scienific consensus about global warming being a threat to the environment.
If that is just me then…I guess that makes one of us.
