Grayson, POGO Use ACORN Defunding Push to Go After Military Contractors

Ryan Grim has the story, I have stifled guffaws.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) picked up on the legislative overreach and asked the Project on Government Oversight (POGO) to sift through its database to find which contractors might be caught in the ACORN net.

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Gumman both popped up quickly, with 20 fraud cases between them, and the longer list is a Who’s Who of weapons manufacturers and defense contractors.

The bill in question, Ryan reports, applies to “any organization’ that has been charged with breaking federal or state election laws, lobbying disclosure laws, campaign finance laws or filing fraudulent paperwork with any federal or state agency. It also applies to any of the employees, contractors or other folks affiliated with a group charged with any of those things.”

Here it is folks!
An actual bi-partisan measure that will streamline government, shine a bright light into some dark corners, and ensure that the money's influence on the political process is diminished!
Breathes there a man with a soul so dead that he stands in opposition?
God I love this country!
I give it two weeks, tops.

This measure has ramifications that Congressman Boner didn't forsee. He though he was just fashioning a stick to beat ACORN with. Poetic justice!!

I agree w/them: If ACORN is to be defunded because they had bad employees, then entities like Blackwater, who have a long record of hideous things [far, far worse than anything ACORN could do!!!] can't possibly be given immunity….though not once have the nasty GOP hypocrites called for THEIR defunding.

Well, we are. And it's WAY past time.

Something very good will come from ACORN's misery and the RW can whine all they want about it – I could care less:(

Which is why it will be killed in conference. I'd say the over/under is a week. Obama won't even need to veto or attach a signing statement.

Some criminals are more equal than others.
