Who forced the Congress to vote for a bill they “hadn't read”? Just as in the Iraq war, if you voted yes, you're accountable. Nice try, Mr. Conyers.

Doesn't surprise me, considering that the first version of the Patriot Act was voted on before it was even written.

My question is why then don't they just outlaw this version of the Patriot Act, and unearth the 'real' version that was mysteriously replaced at the eleventh hour? When they do that, they should also try to name it something totally different, becuase the “Patriot Act” now has some very ugly connotations. This should solve the issue or revising and whatever else they are trying to do with the existing piece of crap act.

Hello!!! It seems obvious what to do: adopt the original bill that both parties’ representatives unanimously agreed to in the days shortly after September 11, 2001.
