The government can they do all they want to give more people health care coverage but, when the doctors are reimbursed at rates below 50% of what private health insurance pay, when they have overhead of their own, why should they see Medicaid and Medicare patients. My husband spent years in training, 4 college,4 medical school, 5 years of residency and one year of specialty surgery. He earned his first paycheck when he was 32. Long hours away from myself and children, he devoted more time to his patients than to us. I would rather see him quit and go into a different field before I'd see him work 80 hour weeks for nothing!

If the government really wants to offer the American people health care, then pass Tort reform!! Put the extra money not lost on frivolous lawsuits and high malpractice insurance, by offering payments to doctors that are closer to the same payments that private insurers offer. More doctors will accept these patients, and That is what all Americans want – Easy access to health care by the best doctors in the world!
