Switzerland sent officials last month to visit the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay to collect information about four detainees it’s considering accepting for resettlement, The Associated Press reports.
The men being considered are reportedly two Chinese Muslim Uighurs, an Uzbek and a Palestinian. The men the United States has been trying to relocate have all been deemed not to pose any security threat but cannot be returned to their native countries for fear of persecution and torture there.
Ireland, Portugal, France, Albania, the Pacific island nation of Palau and Bermuda have all already agreed to take about a dozen detainees since President Obama took office in January and promised to close the Guantanamo prison by January 2010.
The United States, however, has refused to accept any of the detainees cleared for release on its own soil, including those that U.S. federal judges have ruled were wrongly imprisoned by the United States for more than seven years.

Countries like Ireland, Portugal, France, Albania, The Pacific Island of Palau, Barmuda and lastly Switzerland are taking these detainees purely on humanitarian reasons. These detainees underwent such torture that not even convicts of murder cases suffers, only because they were suspects of terrorists organizations. with no evidential proof to claim it ti be true, or even to have committed any terrorist offense.The interrogators after using methods that falls within the jurisdiction of crime against humanity is being exonerated and will live within the perimeter of USA but the citizen wouldn't open their mouth against their stay.
This what is the justice of the public of the lone super power commanding respect and being a stong advocate of HUMAN RIGHTS.
The Government of the Original countries of these detainees who refuses to go back to their own countries for fear of being tortured are just not worth of being called worthy government of the people and should have no right to be member of the community of Nations.
The UN Secretary General should prepare necessary documents to shunt these tyrant governments ruled countries out from the membership till such time Government for the people takes over the charge of such countries.
last but far from being the least, the countries those of which accepted to take the detainee Deserve a Mega Congratulation to all those Nations (for being real Humanitarian nations of the world)from the Community of nation.
