‘Value Voters’ Presidential Straw Poll Includes Santorum, Pence, Palin
Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:41 am
The third annual “Value Voters Summit,” a conference sponsored by the Family Research Council and other leading Christian conservative groups, kicks off tomorrow in Washington. Organizers have just released the names that will appear on a 2012 presidential straw poll:
Newt Gingrich
Mike Huckabee
Bobby Jindal
Sarah Palin
Ron Paul
Tim Pawlenty
Mike Pence
Mitt Romney
Rick Santorum
Huckabee, Pawlenty, Pence and Romney will all be appearing at the conference. Romney won the last straw poll, in 2007, after most of the GOP contenders, including Rudy Giuliani, appeared before the crowd. But Huckabee beat Romney among voters who actually voted in person — Romney was boosted by online voters. It was a minor harbinger of Romney’s defeat to the much less funded Huckabee in the Iowa caucuses.

Ouch. I'd offer my sympathies to Republicans, but I wouldn't mean it.

Yah, no kidding!
After reading that list, The Repubs are just going to get smaller and smaller. Pretty soon we'll have to have a token Repub just to satisfy the Constitution.

Hey Values Voters,
I know how enthusiastic y'all are about pointing out the filthy and perverted influences our kids are exposed to via the Hip-Hop culture and the liberal media. I'm curious why you don't seem the least bit concerned that I cannot enjoy an evening of television with my 13 year old daughter without being subjected to an endless gauntlet of commercials advertising Viagra (“call your dr. if your erection lasts 4 hours or more…”) and male enhancement products? Your silence on this subject is DEAFENING, an it betrays a telling double standard.

Still like being a “value voter”?
The people you support probably take the stuff like eating candy, considering how many can't seem to keep their libidos in check.
What about marriage? There are so many coming out of the closet with their infidelities, the institution doesn't seem to mean much, does it? Gays and Lesbians know better.
Don't expect any more than lip service from your elected officials, and don't blame the media about influence. Your kid sees worse at school. Besides, it's not like she's watching porn. She's 13, are you going to keep her a kid all her life? I think she's old enough to explain to. Give your kid a little credit, and stop blaming others. If you want to be a part of the modern age, you have to move with it, not the other way around.

Monkey, you have completely missed my point. My post is not about my 13 yr old, it's about the hypocrisy of the rightwing Morality Police. If you're still not getting it, let me elaborate: the pharmaceutical ads to which I refer are evidently immune to the type of criticism routinely heaped (by the Palin/Huckabee crowd) upon the “liberal” media, and I resent the double standard. You needn't trouble yourself to give me parenting advice…
