Obama has a way out of this. He could do the honorable thing and resign before any indictments making Biden the legal president. Biden could then pardon Obama of treason, falsifying documents, etc. Everybody wins except then that goofy Biden would be our prez. But oh well.

BUENA PARK, Calif. (ABP) -- The so-called "Birthers" claimed a small victory Sept. 8 when a federal judge set a tentative trial date of Jan. 26, 2010, for a lawsuit claiming that President Obama is constitutionally ineligible for his office.
"We won again," Wiley Drake, a former second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention, said of the ruling by federal judge David Carter. Drake is one of several plaintiffs in the lawsuit alleging that Obama cannot hold his office because he does not meet the constitutional requirement that the president be a "natural-born" citizen.

People put energy and attention into actions that will impact themselves and others. E.g. if you're shopping for food and concerned about cholesterol, you'll choose purchases carefully.

When a pollster calls up and asks if Obama is the Anti-Christ, there's practically zero riding on how you respond. Your answer is likely to have far less practical impact on anyone (compared to, say, which cereal you purchase). Your answer carries little meaning, one way or the other.

I would have said no, but when you read the prophecy in the Bible and compare it to where Obama is taking this country and world, it appears he very well may be, or if he's not, he's awfully close to it. One-world govt, all the countries linked monetarily, banks, welfare, etc. "By peace shall many be destroyed." He may very well be.

I think you're the one who can't do math. It's 1/5 of ALL voters; 1/3 of conservatives (which is what the headline says). Also, McCain voters don't come off so well when the "not sure's" are included.

It’s a phone survey where you press buttons and don't talk to someone. It’s such a stupid question that I could see people saying Yes for the hell of it. I don’t believe in an anti-Christ, and I’d have probably pushed the Yes button when asked about Bush. I wouldn’t have believed it, but it would be a way to register just how much I hated the guy.

I have been doing some Biblical end times research, and I have decoded some obscure textual clues and discovered that the Anti-Christ will come to us in the guise of a fox under the name Murdoc. These biblical prophesies are prone to allegory though. I mean really, a fox?

Really? Murdoc? I doubt it. First do historical referencing of where the idea of "anti-christ" started. It depends on what version you are attempting to invoke. Nostradumbass said there would be three, but his idea of an anti-christ was of just an evil human being, it wasn't really biblical in nature. The third being Marbus. Something that is more plausible than the biblical notion, as evil destructive people exist. If you are invoking the religious anti-christ that relates to the har megiddo (armageddon) then it's just hocus pocus. Why are humans so infatuated with fantasy and mystical stuff, and fail at logic? That's a better question.

There actually was an ongoing thread posted on the IMDB website for the film "The Omen" a few years back speculating whether Dubya Bush might in fact be the Anti-Christ. However, the vast majority of posters, Dems and Repubs alike, almost unanimously agreed that Bush is simply TOO STUPID to be the Devil's Progeny.

As to the truther question, I agree, it is too vague. As to whether Bush had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks, what was Richard Clarke screaming about, with the Aug 6 Presidential Daily Brief and Tenet's hair on fire? It is easy to defend the proposition that Bush had advance knowledge that *something* was up with Al Qaeda.

Hispanics tend to be Catholic; as I commune with my inner lapsed Catholic I remember that in the middle ages every prominent politician was the anti-Christ for fifteen minutes - it was a very common accusation, sort of like the current insistence that all Republicans who oppose health care reform are racist.

My guess - either NJ Hispanics are whack jobs (less likely), or Catholics tend to be more comfortable tossing the "Anti-Christ" bomb.

The poll is also laughably noisy, probably because respondents were in automated phone call hell, trying to type 1 if they think Obama is the Anti-Christ and so on. Turns out that something like 5% of Obama voters think he is the anti-Christ (and, somewhat consistently, favor the abolition of the Federal government); 5% of Obama voters are birthers, with another 9% not sure; 9% of self-proclaimed Democrats are birthers, with another 12% not sure. Either there are a lot of Hillary backers clinging bitterly to their gal, or the poll is a mess.

I don't necessarily equate truthers with birthers, as the questions are often too vague with truthers, like in this poll.

Now, what does this mean? Does it mean he knew that the specific attacks were coming at a specific date and time, and did nothing to prevent them, or that some unspecified attacks were coming (we have evidence that this is true)? Or does it mean it was an inside job? It's unclear. Most truthers I have encountered believe it was an inside job. Those are certainly truthers. Are people who think Bush knew and did nothing truthers? Are people who just think Bush knew the risks, and decided they weren't worth devoting many resources to, also truthers?

There's much less ambiguity when it comes to birthers, IMO.

They should also ask questions that better define the people being surveyed -- something like:

Does the devil know where you live?

Was Hitler the AntiChrist?

How many AntiChrists can there be?

Would you shake hands with a black man?

Is it ever appropriate to have sex with your children?
With other people's children?

If your country drops a bomb in another country and it kills children, is this a bad thing?

What if the children don't speak English and are not white?

The big surprise here–the group of voters most likely to think Obama is the Anti-Christ are … Hispanics, who solidly backed Obama in 2008. Only 58 percent of them say, for sure, that their president is not Satan come to wreak havoc here on earth.
