Rep. Pete Stark Won’t Dignify Constituent by, er, Micturating Upon His Leg

In the tradition of Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), California Democratic Rep. Pete Stark revealed at a recent town hall gathering that there are limits to what he’ll endure from angry constituents. From TPM:

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) got a pretty rough earful from an older looking man at a meeting with senior citizens in Fremont, CA, and, well, said a couple less-than-artful things. The man ended his attack on health reform by telling Stark, “Mr. Congressman, don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”

Stark responded, “I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”

No stranger to controversy, Stark, who chairs the Ways and Means health subpanel, likely isn’t concerned about losing the gentleman’s vote. The 19-term Democrat won his last election with a comfortable 77 percent of the vote.
