I could be my imagination, but what I saw on Fox this morning was a bunch of White folks. I am sure there are some minorities in there somewhere, but did not see any. So, this is supposed to be the “Independents”, but it sure looks like a bunch of bitter Republicans disguising themselves as “Independents”. If I were an “Independent”, I would be scared to see who is calling themselves such a name. Nasty and bitter Republicans who can't use their regular party affiliation because it has bad implications with the general public. I wonder if the Republicans are still so in love with George W. Bush (the worst president ever).

I don't get it! The inane signs seem to say it all. This is not about Health Care or about taxes it is about Racism. Are they mad or just afraid? If they only would think about it, the truth is easy to grasp. Surely these people are not as Stupid as their representatives seem to think -or maybe they are. This is both embarrassing and sad. Where would the condition of most of these people be without government help? Especially the southern states, they pay on the average less taxes than mant northern states, yet they subsist on Government money through the military – most of the bases in the US are in the south, poverty relief. They have historically tried to “charm” industries to locate there by working for less in wages and benefits and you can bet when health care is reformed those states will be the ones who will cry as the most needy.
Let'em secede. Without the Federal Government they wouldn't last very long.

It is so unfortunate betsym that you can't see who the misinformed really is. Maybe when your freedoms are down the tubes and you wonder what happened, perhaps then you will realize who really the misinformed were. ( But then it will be too late.) Come to your senses before that happens…Glenn Beck is a great patriot.Thank heavens for leaders like him. This is all about our Constitution. It has nothing to do with racism, and it has all to do about big government and all power of the Obama administration and the Czars……GO GRASS ROOTS AMERICA

So, presumably, you were up in arms when the Bush administration appointed numerous czars, ran up the federal deficit, created the largest government bureaucracy in the nation's history, and illegally wiretapped American citizens? Because I can't seem to remember Glenn Beck saying a peep about any of that.

Where were these folks when 20 billion in cash disappeared in Iraq in 2003-2004?
Or when GWB nationalized AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?
No one seems to be complaining about GWB's gift to Big Pharma nor the trillions GWB gave to millionaires to bail out their billions of bad bets, which made them millions.

Les you are just as misinformed as they are. Beck lies all the time as do Hannity, Lamebrain and the whole bunch that you people prefer to believe. He's not a leader he's is just crazy. And it isn't about the Constitution because if it were you would realize that Obama has done nothing to violate it. The big government started with your beloved GW Bush who already ran the deficit up. Remember he had a surplus when he went into office and spent it like a drunken cowboy. And by the way you really don't know what the hell you are talking about when it comes to Czars Bush had 45. And by the way, you obviously think that Czars were during Communist Russia. Actually Czars were before the Communist Revolution, but you and all your ignorant cohorts just throw that out to all who will listen. Got it from Beck, the crazy. And please don't tell me about freedoms because it was Bush who asked for the Patriot Act, and LIED to Congress saying he needed it, just like he lied about the Iraq war.

It is apparent that you don't really listen to Beck because he has railed on the GOP just as much or more as he has the democrats. I totally agree with him and distance myself from Republican or Democrat.. As far Bush, you are right about him starting to grow big government etc. I feel it is a double standard for liberals to continue to say Bush lied etc. I can't prove that comment and neither can you. It is common sense or just a matter of doing the math to think Obama can create a whole new health care system without putting us in more debt. ( Therefore he lies so whether you agree or not) just look at all other government programs. They are going bankrupt and are not efficiently run. This whole thing is a personal opinion and all I want is America to not be run by corrupt politicians and there are enough of them on both sides of the aisle. You are obviously liberal and I am not. I can respect your opinions but I don't have to agree just because I am more conservative. I wish we all could come together for the best outcome and stop the corruption because 30 plus Czars is just pathetic and harmful to any republic. I know there have always been a few but 35-38 whatever the number is at this point. That is wrong.

Les, unfortunately when I get in the car I have to listen to all the right wing radio talk show hosts because where I live that's all they have. It is a known fact that Bush had 45 Czars. And I just pulled up this very interesting article by Politifact about the Czars as you and Beck insist on calling them. Please read it because I think you may be more open minded once you read THE WHOLE thing.
Now, I do not think of myself as a liberal. I am fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. So maybe that makes me a moderate. I've been voting for 50 years Les, and I was a Republican all but last year, when I switched because of my disgust and embarrassment the Republican party has become.
Yes I said fiscally conservative. The money that Obama has spent had to be spent. Read what the majority of the Economists have said. Most would like him to have put more into the stimulus then I did. As far as TARP goes, the banks are starting to pay the money back to the government with interest. And as far as health care is concerned, I'm sorry, but this is long overdue. We are the only industrialized country that doesn't have some form of Universal Health Care or single payer. WE DO NOT have the best health care in the world like the conservatives like to proclaim. And why is that? Because the health insurance companies won't let people get the care that they need. They pocket your money and if you have a catastrophic condition, they will dump you.
I'm one of the lucky ones. I have Medicare and Tri Care for Life, which is the free care that retired military have. Guess what! It's Government run just like VA and Medicare and so I say, give everyone Medicare, not just people over 65.

Here's the link I told you about. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/stateme…

And by the way when you read that you will also read what people are calling Czars. It's ridiculous.

Many of these people were complaining under GWB, that is when it started.
GWB, Obama and probably more have made deals with Pharma. The issues are not one party, the issues are the lobbyists and special interest groups that infiltrate our whole political system and infect both parties.

About racism??

How is that, Marxism? Ayn Rand?

bobbycorno, what you've just posted is one of the most insainly idiotic things I've ever read. At no point during your rambling, incoherent post were you even close tho what could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Your right {to say the least) about two things! First, the post was a bit rambling. I wrote after watching some of the protest signs and comments. Secondly, you must be right about being dumber. What else could explain the noxious statements from the “protesters”? What kind of arguments are signs i.e. We didn't bring our weapons -This Time or “The Zoo has it's Lion and Washington has it Lyin' African”
Facts are Facts and no amount of baloney can eradicate them. House Healthcare bill does not advocate “Death Panels” nor does it allow Illegal immigrants to get subsidized Health Care. Another fact is that current premiums for Health Insurance will triple over the next two years. etc. etc. If there are some REAL provisions, instead of cockeyed predictions, that you have with the plan, then voice them by all means to your representative.

bobbycorno writes “The inane signs seem to say it all. This is not about Health Care or about taxes it is about Racism.”

Oh really? Have you considered what a black person said of the protesters, on the basis of far more exposure to the people and signs there than you saw on this web page or elsewhere in the media? Try this:
The DC Tea Party Protesters aren’t the raging racists the media portrays them to be. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of tea party visitors at our booth and the Black Family Reunion Celebration overall”

This can be found at
http://www.blackgirlgrown.com/2009/09/17/lesson…

This Black Family Reunion Celebration she writes about was taking place on another part of the Mall at the same time, so of course Tea Party people were coming to and from the protest through where she was.

The signs on this page include one that reads “Ayn Rand Was Right.” In case you didn't know, she wrote, “Racism is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of collectivism. It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man's genetic lineage—the notion that a man's intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors.”

Ayn Rand wrote this in the 1960s, when there were fewer on the Right making such statements, and she devoted a full non-fiction article to the subject.

First, I would like to thank you for your respose. It made me go back and think about the Rand Philosophy which is called “Objectivism” It more fully developed in 1962(?) in a rather massive book called “Atlas Shrugged”. Objectivism is a philosophical movement and advocates certain political ( in it generic meaning)principles which is basically “Laissez-faire” capitalism. Without going into chapter and verse put simplistically {not exactly accurate}it is the “every man for himself” idea. Her idea, which you quoted, about Racisim is rooted in the fact that man is an individual responsible only to him or her self. Religion, since it espouses “care for others” is also not a productive enterprise -she was a professed atheist – which may or may not influenced her thoughts on the subject. The notion of God was seen as an insult to human kind, because it presumes something higher than man or controlling of man. While there has never been -yet- a real “laissez- faire” capitalistic society, here in the U.S., we have come mighty close at least twice; once in the 1920's and in the late 1990's. Each time the result was disastrous. This does not mean a capitalistic society is bad but in order for it to be equitable oversight and regulation must exist to keep it in check. Just as, a socialistic society need them. The sigh that says “Ayn Rand is Right” implies that every man for himself is correct.
No one who has seen the effects of that can really believe it is the ideal. All of the religious orders proclaim that we are our brother's keeper and in that spirit we need Health Care Reform. Finally, your mention of the African=American Family groups and the interaction with the marchers is both heartwarming and correct. You might want to check out David Brooks Column this past Friday (?), which discusses this very thing. Thanks again

I covered the 9/12 DC Tea Party and March as a freelance photographer. I invite you to visit my website, which contains a extensive photo gallery and commentary on the event. I believe the gallery shows a range of photos not typically seen of the event.

I welcome all comments.
