Where are the pictures of these old uninsurable farts burning their Medicare and Social Security cards? I'm sure they are going to eschew those benefits that they find so odious…aren't they?

I'll burn my Medicare and Social Security card ones the government returns all my money it forcibly taxed on me the day I started working. My moms retired, she is not on Medicare because she wants better care and is willing to pay the extra money; are you going to take that away? Because my mother invested in stocks in her company she does not rely on Social Security for retirement income but she still gets it because she paid into the system thru taxes. That's the difference unlike you who probably never paid into the system and feel your entitled to it. Are you saying people who paid taxes to fund the system should be giving their taxed money to those that never paid into it?

How about this idea… I'll support you guys on this harebrained teabagging if you return all the tax money we wasted on a war against a two-bit tyrant who posed no threat to our country.

Deal?

Ya'll can't make a point without draggin' out some tired “librul” stereotyping, huh?

Forcibly taxed? Do you not drive on roads? use clocks? send mail? have 24/7 police and fire protection? A mighty military?

I'm a liberal and I pay into the system, and I gladly pay my taxes, for the aforementioned reasons, as well as to help those who may have less than I do. Because I am an American.

WE the people elected President Obama to office. This division is between WE the people and a smattering of extremely poor losers. It can't be much else, or you would have been out in the streets doing your thing when Bush was doing the very things you are accusing Obama of doing.

You lying POS! Do you think you are the only one who works and pays taxes? What a dumb comment and a dumb assumption. I'm also retired, not old enough to draw SS or medicare, and doubt if I'll use it when I am old enough. I have an IRA + savings, and affordable health insurance at $100/mo. with rates that will always be lower than that of the average American. That's why we need reform. The system is rigged to be unfair to most Americans, including you.

What makes you think that there aren't millions more like you and your mom who work and contribute to this society?
Ans. Ignorance.

What makes you think anyone wants to take anything from your mom when we have moms of our own that we want to protect?
Ans. Stupidity, greed, and an inability to live in the real world.

Why don't you think about things before coming onto a blog to spew hate, divisiveness, lies, and ignorance?
Ans. Too much time spent listening to rich, fat, greedy, dumb know-nothings who will most likely never have to worry about the things you will have to deal with in your lifetime.

Who called every one old farts and made assumptions all those old protesters were all on Medicare and Social Security, very tough to do so on paper like those window warriors in prison.

Your right the system is rigged to be unfair because I'm forced to buy only three sets of health insurance dictated both by the employer and the state that does not allow me to buy out of state which would lower my premium several hundred dollars. What 's one nationalized health care going to improve my choice when nothing in Obama Care has lifted the states control on purchase of health insurance?

If there aren't millions like my mom and me who work and contribute to society there would be no welfare, public schools, Medicare, Social Security and a strong defense or a Salvation Army or United Way but because I refuse to fallow your desire for a nationalized health care you find me ignorant. Then maybe you can tell me what Obama bill shows that his health care will reduce our expense from 15% of GDP to 8% of GDP like those western Europeans you want us to emulate because name calling only effected me to cower at the age of six and the dude was huge.

What makes me think liberals want to take things from my mom and me because I've read HR3200. In the begining of the Bill the power of what coverage you get will be dictated by a commisioner who has yet to decide ones coverage once HR3200 is passed.

I don't listen to dumb know nothing conservatives as I don't listen to know nothing Star Bucks latte sipping, dreadlock wearing, pot smoking liberal who lives in a home larger then necessary but complains about Global Warming who resorts to ad hominems to get a point across.

Your right not all liberals are none working pot heads as not all conservatives are racist red necks who don't donate to any charity or as majii labled all protestors on 9/12, who are old, as old farts who are all on Medicare and Social Security who have no right to protest about government run programs because they benefit from it.

By that logic all US citizens and many parts of the world have no right to protest against a war the US wages or protest to refuse to pay taxes for the military budget because we all benefit from a strong US military. Because roads benefit all of us then no environmentalist has a right to object to where a road is built?

Let's permanentely stop all protest against any program the government wants to implement or war it wants to wage since all government action will benefit us. Lets first stop Code Pink and other liberals from protesting in order to prematurily end the two wars. Or is this desire by liberals to accept all state progams as unojectionable temporary until Obama Care gets passed then the hate is back on.

If the rest of us were happy, why did tens of thousands of people turn out in protests?? There is anger brewing in America that will get out of control if ignored much longer.
Back when the United States of America was just the colonies that were ruled by Great Britain, colonists began to feel oppressed and controlled by the far, out of touch government in England. The taxation without representation and unfair taxes on exports along with other controlling actions by the Parliament made the colonists feel like their lives were being run for them.
So anger started to brew amongst colonists, yet it wasn’t a majority that wanted a revolution against the controlling government, it was a small radical group of brave and intelligent people that began the rebellion that is now known as the American Revolution. This revolution represented citizens’ desires to be free of a large and controlling government that decides everything for its people.
Yet here we are, a little more than 200 years later, we have a massive government that continues to chide into each and every part of it’s citizens lives and a good amount of those citizens have had enough. High taxes, unnecessary spending, governmental intervention everywhere, where is the individual responsiblity? What happened to the Americans who were too proud to accept a handout from the government and instead would find a way to make it on their own? What the United States doesn’t need is the government making yet another decision for them, we need to stand up to our representatives and show them how we feel like we’re suffocating from the firm grasp of the federal government’s hand.

I didn't read anything in the bill HR3200 that the Health Care expense will be reduced to 8% from 15% of GDP just like European countries. All we hear is 47 million are not insured therefor we must put everyone into the nationalized health care. I thought it was all about the rise in cost?

“These People” spent years pissed at Bush but folks like you on the other side didn't know because they didn't speak up. They had jobs and raised their families and thought it was just the way the government was, no matter who was in charge.

Then came the recession, and Bush bailed out the banks, then Obama did the same, and the debt kept piling up, and they finally snapped.

These are people who have never protested before. Sure some are organizers, but you can't get 1-1.5 million people all from some organization. The Right is notoriously disorganized and doesn't have a “community organizer” network like the Left.

But that is about to change.

Native Americans just want their land back not reparation. As for me, I’m a minority neither Native American or African American whose natural resources were taken without just compensation or given any retirement funds to my relatives who fought the Japanese while in US uniform. If that’s what it takes I’m all for it. The Japanese gave my country money for the atrocities they committed why not the US. You will have Obama do it right, no matter what the cost is to tax payers since liberals have a conscience for the suffering other people not like those heartless republicans.

patcsh:I am pleased to answer some of your inquiries. True, many photos were of people who did not wear size 0 to 8 clothing.Does this make them less of a person?(or is there some “profiling” there? Many had children being cared for by grandparents who were unable to attend, but supported in the best way they could. Funding…well, I lost my full time job when the company I worked for moved off shore due to the overload of small business tax levied by the US. I now work 4 to 12 days a month at a minimum wage job,and I saved for months to pay for bus fare to go to the peacefull, but passionate demonstration in Washington.I left with 54 more people, who wanted our voices to be heard,at 9:30 PM and were dropped off in DC.We spent the day,til 4:30 talking, and listening to others who are disturbed that this administration,as well as past administrations, are instituting policies that are not in compliance with out Constitution. No President is given authority to mandate that every citizen have insurance. If you do not purchase insurance, you would be mandated to pay a penalty. The HR3200 as is on the House website also has a $5000.00 deductable for individuals and $10,000 for a family of 4.Scroll down, and you will see that they will have real time access to your bank account(again,it is mandated,to enforce that deductable)Undocumented persons being covered. It has been requested by more than one Republican, that proof of citizenship must be shown to be covered and the democratic majority in this congress has twice voted this stipulation down. They refused to require proof of citizenship to be covered(thus the YOU LIE) comment. As in any government program,if it is not IN THE BILL that proof of citizenship must be shown, then it will not be required, therefor leaving it open for non citizens. This is all part of the “nanny state”mentality.Out DSS already covers parents and underage siblings of babies that are born to undocumented workers. Thus a family of illegals can come her, give birth to a child on our shores, and have Medicaid health coverage for all, food stamps for all, housing allowance for all,and WIC for ALL the children in that family. Thus, one baby can qualify any number of persons to draw from our tax proceeds. This has gone on too long.We can only see escilating entitlement programs and know that our economy cannot, and indeed, should not be doing this.If you were to read Mark Levins’ book Liberty and Tyrany you may be able to understand some of our concerns. This is not about Obama. This is about our republic being destroyed.

I am frankly disturbed at the liberal press that they failed to cover this event, either before, during or after. However, I shouldn't be surprised for they have been slanting the news for quite a while lately. I think Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank have all led us down the garden path to a socialistic government, if we don't start taking action in voting them out of office. .

The truth is we spend 16-17 cents of every dollar in this country on health care and rank 37th. Even if we ranked No.1 that is to much when our competition around the world covers everyone for 8-10 cents on the dollar. Tell me how spending that much more for less and not covering everyone at the same time is not a Conservative value. Go read Burke.

Simple answers for simple minds. Keep believing that. By the way 2000-2006 GOP White House Senate and Congress. What caused all the problems was the belief that markets are self regulating that Wall Street would look out for its shareholders interest and ultra low long term interest rates.

You were not there and you're comment is without relevance.
However, that being said…..you are due the same amount of respect as you're inane comment.
Even though there was a SIGNIFICANTLY greater number of people attending the protest as compared to a football game – you're comment demonstrates the point that you would even compare the two? The PROBLEM with this country is JUST THAT. No one pays attention to their civic and constitutional duty of paying attention to our government representatives and the issues that they are PAID to address and worry more about meaningless football games.

So what are you saying your not allowed to have a fancy car and good health care. Why would others have to pay their bill. You get it at work or you purchase it yourself. The govt. says it will help subsidize the lower income workers and that's bad how? What type of car do you think CEOs of ins. co.'s drive with 25-30 cent of each dollar they get not going to health care. And by the way what exactly do insurance company's do. When you get sick you don't go see your ins. agent.

The point of a society is to help one another. By working together we don't all have to do everything our selfs. We can work together like the amish putting up a barn, or like the government building a road. I don't want to build a sewer system for myself, I would rather pay a tax. Many people are complaining about healthcare reform and how it is delivered without thinking about what should be done. Instead of just call names or just as bad if not worse excepting the ideas of the congress/government why not think about how it works and come up with some useful ideas.
Currently we have a problem, big companies can cut us off from medical treatment if we don't have insurance. But they are the only ones who can sell us insurance. We have higher and higher costs. Most of us won't be able to pay if the trend continues. The more people without insurance, the more people in emergency rooms. The more people in emergency rooms, the more state governments will have to pay. We all live in states, so we will all have to pay. So what is the solution? I'm open to suggestions. It's really kind of a math problem.

I don't get it. What freedoms are we losing? I live in Appalachia-work 3 jobs, my husband works 2, but none provide health insurance. It takes all those jobs to pay mortgage, utilities, car expenses, and food. There is none left over for health care, I keep trying to think of a way to work another job, but I do have to sleep sometime. And now what…I'm very sick! I put off going to a Doctor for years because I could not pay–it is so high out of pocket! So there was an emergency, and I don't know what is going to happen. I need surgery-but how on earth can that happen? Does anyone out there think this is one of my American rights…to die from neglect and financial woes? I work my ass off! Now what?

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries BY A GOVERNMENT, which we might expect in a country WITHOUT GOVERNMENT,
our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer. Government, like dress, is the badge of lost innocence; the palaces of kings are built on the ruins of the bowers of paradise. For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform, and
irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest; and this he is induced to do by the same prudence which in every other case advises him out of two evils to choose the least. WHEREFORE, security being the true design and end of government, it unanswerably follows that whatever FORM thereof appears most likely to ensure it to us, with the least expense and greatest benefit, is preferable to all others.

Lo, are you kidding? Because these people think differently than you do, they are UNAMERICAN? That is crazy, and opposite what this country stands for. The expression of opinion is what this country was founded on! I don't see racism in ANY of this, all I see is dissatisfaction with how this administration is heading us toward socialism. People around the wordls can look at this and envy the FREEDOM we American have to express our opinion and affect change. How pompous of you to think people with opinions contrary to yours are less American.

Racism? I think not. If it would have been racist, there would have been a white side and a black side. There were black people there, too. And it's ignorant to think any of those people were there to be racist. And it's good to show an ugly side every once in a while. “Nobody's perfect.” -Hannah Montana.

It's wild to see people so up-in-arms over providing health care to their own people. Maybe not when you consider they were also the ones upset over protests against sending US soldiers to kill and die over, wait, why did we go to Iraq? Was there a final consensus? Oh, right, to find Waldo.
