On Wednesday, American Solutions for Winning the Future, a conservative 527 group founded by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), notified a pornography studio executive that she’d won the group’s 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Needless to say, Allison Vivas, president of Pink Visual, was shocked at the news.
“I’m honored, and more than a little surprised, to receive this prestigious award,” Vivas said. “It never occurred to me that Newt Gingrich, one of the principal architects of the conservative ‘Contract with America’ in the 1990′s, would be willing to brave criticism from the far right of his party in order to recognize good work done on the part of an adult entertainment professional.”
Turns out it was an error. Media Matters just received a statement from an ASWF spokesman indicating that the message delivered to Vivas “was sent by mistake.”
“We regret the error,” spokesman Dan Kotman added.

Does anyone need any more proof that conservatives watch porn, and lots of it? We already know they do. Otherwise they would be forced to have sex (ack!) with their wives (horrors!) or men in airport bathrooms.
I mean, these people knew who they were giving the award to. It's not like there's another Allison Vivas out there. And it's not like they meant to give it “Allison Viva” or “Ellison Vivas.”
I learned as a boy that there's an important distinction between being sorry you did something and being sorry you got caught doing something. I think this 527 is just sorry it got caught.

Just more evidence that the Republicans are a bunch of idiots. I hope Newt runs for President in 2012>>it would be great fodder. If he runs on “Values”, he would have to explain his divorces and pill habit. Plus, his parents must have thought he was one ugly baby to name him Newt. He sure did not miss one limb when he fell down the ugly tree (both external and internal). He is one of the most vicious men on this earth. Newt/Rush in 2012>>>that would make the conservatives happy!
