Cloture Vote on Sunstein at 4:45 P.M.

Sen. Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) office sends word that the Senate will vote on cloture on the nomination of Cass Sunstein after a debate this hour.

At 4:45pm, the Senate will proceed to vote in relation to the following:

- Final passage of the Travel Promotion Act (S. 1023, as amended)

- The motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Cass Sunstein to be Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget.

Actually, I think it is inappropriate no matter Rep. or Dem. President using them because it allows them to circumvent the system. And I think the reason people are a bit alarmed is because Obama has far more than any Pres. has had and some of which have some wild ideas that most are not used to hearing. We need to remember that we are not fighting each other here. We just want to see less Gov't and more freedom. That's all... We all want cheaper health care and we all want to see everyone covered. Allow the free market to open up - re: being able to purchase state to state for insurance and get some good tort reform and that will dramatically lower costs... Frome there eliminate the Billions of $$ of waste and corruption in medicare and we can then help far more people. We are all Americans and I think for the most part, want to see our neighbors prosper as we prosper.... Let us not lose sight to what makes us great. Let usnot bicker among each other but look at the issues together and find real honest solutions that we are all comfortable with. And lets stop the anme calling on both sides. I am a conservative independent and I will defend the right of those I may not agree with to speak their minds. We all should be willing to do that but, lets not fight withing ourselves. We want reform, but again, for me I just would like it to come without growing the gov't. :)

Well, I do enjoy my "isms" with a bit of milk... Listen, I think one of the problems is that we end up attacking each other over these issues and forget we all are Americans... I think both sides of the issues can get a bit carried away... For me, all I want is less gov't and keep my freedoms.. THat I would bet most all of us would agree on...

In 1944, Norman Thomas, a six time Socialist party candidate, said ""under the name of liberalism Americans will adopt every fragment the Socialism program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation". This guy Sustein embodies every bit of the master plan Obama has for America. He is smart, and appears on the surface to not be particularly political, but he is a scary individual who is at the very left fringe of progressive liberalism. He will slowly chip away the our Second Amendment rights in small pieces over time until there is none of it left. He has to be stopped before the erosion starts, if fact this whole Regulatory CZAR office has to be eliminated.

Cass Sunstein, the new Adminstrator of the Office of information and Regulatory Affairs will hold the power in his hands to change the United States. I fear Mr. Sunstein with great pleasure will sneakily freeze operations that will provide Americans with eating meat. His regulations on farmers will be so out of sight they will be unable to make profits. We, Americans will suffer the consequences. That is only the beginning. He is not a loose cannon like Van Jones; would that Mr. Sustein were.
